“The demographic dividend must be actively earned through policy choices, particularly investments that begin in the earliest years of life,” said Regina Castillo, UNICEF Representative in Uzbekistan. “Evidence shows investing in the early years yields the highest returns across the life course - 90% of brain development occurs before age five. Decisions made in the next 10–20 years will determine whether Uzbekistan’s growing population becomes a driver of prosperity or a missed opportunity.”

🇺🇳🇺🇿 This week in Andijan, @UNICEF_UZB and @IjtimoiyHimoya saw first-hand progress in Uzbekistan’s shift from institutional care to family- and community-based support for children with disabilities. Multifunctional centres are offering integrated, family‑centred services, and small group family‑type homes are helping adolescents who once lived in institutions to thrive in community settings. This important reform is turning into reality. @UNICEF_UZB is proud to partner with @IjtimoiyHimoya to define a minimum package of services for strengthening families, promote family- and community-based care for children with disabilities, and strengthen the social service workforce. Together we are building brighter, more inclusive futures for every child. ✨🤝🇺🇿
