Conversations surrounding domestic violence frequently paint a one-sided picture: women as the eternal victims and men as the inevitable aggressors.
While the door has been pried open to acknowledge that yes, men can be abused too, we must push it wider to confront an uncomfortable truth:
Women can be abusive, and in some cases, even more so than men.
The difference often lies in the consequences—male-perpetrated abuse can lead to more severe physical harm—but ignoring female abusers perpetuates cycles of violence that harm everyone involved.

eerily "ordinary" life celebrated in Jim Jarmusch's haunting minimalist film "Paterson" which I have seen several times & always feel such loss when it ends--as it does, quietly & powerfully. in its way this is an audacious film, an experiment in slow/cyclical/Zen time at a time when movies are primarily action, fast-time, special effects.
but then, it's a film about poetry, specifically the vessel bearing poetry which is "ordinary" life heightened by observation.
