@romankemp @Xmas4CAMHS provides Christmas presents and decorations for every single child and young person who will be an inpatient on a mental health ward over Christmas. They make sure every one of those young people feels thought about and special, an incredible charity ❤️

Please can you point me in the direction of lesser known children’s charities? 👍🏻

@Liz_ORiordan I hope you and your mum are doing OK ❤️ I remember the surgeon's call after my Dad's (lengthy) operation and the huge relief. At the hospital, we bumped into him on the stairs. I said "You've had a long day!" His reply? "Not as long as yours". I will never forget his compassion.

I want to apologise to the relatives of everyone I’ve ever operated on whom I didn’t call after the operation - either waiting til the end of the day or leaving it to a nurse in recovery or on the ward. It’s awful being on the third side of the table, waiting …

I appreciated the objectivity and honesty and it helped us plan. The phrase I came to despise was: "He's not out of the woods"!

Doctors: what teaching (formal or informal) have you had, if any, on how to break bad news, or manage difficult discussions (eg around resus status)? Any recommendations of resources you encountered / used?
