@OrenjiZone Yeah, I feel you, I bounced off the game like 5 times before I got hooked. Basically, once I got my avatar set up properly, I was kinda in. I definitely don't miss the crazy blend tree state machine you need for vrc. It's like 3 nodes in reso for most of the same thing, lmao.

@catboy1357 I wish I had the brain endurance to tackle the UI. I did some light world exploring with friends back when it still was neos and the freedom of things you can do is so cool. It just completely looses me in terms of usability.

I refuse to give VRChat a positive review until they give us proper world and character creation tools. Even they themselves recommend using 3rd party addons for creation. VRChat isn't good "because" of the devs. VRChat is good because creators do amazing stuff "despite" the devs

@parzvrc I don't crash nearly as often as I used to. Now that the bots cant force join my home instances and crash me before I can load in. Feature wise we are basically at or mote than we were with mods.

@oxcrowx Isn't this good for the game he is making? Afaik it's a choose your own adventure game. So he can bitmask and iterate ranges for his global flags. Sure there are other data types but this is a 1D data table that's used once, and if needed could have a named look up enum elsewhere

It is now fashion to hate @PirateSoftware without reason. If you look at the full code you'll see that he's documenting what each state means, and initializing them to zero. He used an array since it's easier to serialize / deserialize to disk. This is the best way to do this.

@ShopowVR If your PC has a wifi card and you connect via cable for internet. Try setting a hotspot in windows. That will be a direct connection with any other devices. You can also look through your wifi charts using the 'Wifi analyzer' app to see how much cross talk is in your area.

Angery VRCat post: I'm at the verge of giving up because of how shitty Virtual Desktop's recent updates have been. I've tried EVERYTHING to resolve this "audio crackling" issue: software reinstallations, hard resets on equipment, resetting my modem/Virtual Desktop, updated ALL of my drivers, went through every reddit/yahoo/forum post, and NOTHING gives a permanent fix. Likewise, I refuse to use SteamLink because of how low quality the resolution/bitrate is, and I paid money for Virtual Desktop years ago. It's a streaming issue that Virtual Desktop refuses to solve, I'm literally beside my 5G router and connected via Ethernet cable. I tried everything, and I'm ready to just give up with Virtual Desktop. Is it because I've been using a quest 2 headset? I've taken good care of it, like my 12-year-old laptop that I used to build worlds on. My last solution is to get a new headset, but too expensive, and I'm fairly busy all the time.

@LakuzaVR Hey, quick question from the avatar creator looking in. How big of a loss is this tool. I see the license is extremely restrictive. This feels more like a single point of failure on a dependency that retired and broke. How hard would it be to rebuild this open source as MIT /gen

latest patch notes from VRChat, looks like cyantrigger won't be supported going forward which cuts off a lot of world creators like myself🫡 VRChat never made a viable alternative to cyantrigger in the 5 years of sdk3 being a thing. Learning C# just for vrchat world creation is pointless, since I can just go standalone releases instead (not being a programmer was literally the only thing keeping me tied to vrchat since there was a way for me to make games without being one). So, I there probably won't be any new worlds from me in VRChat. Need to think about what I'm going to do going forward 😰

@Senpai0008 This is a good point to make. Vrchat has sent pull requests and made forks for tools in the past when it would break because of updates. In this case, they literally can't. Even if they wanted to grandfather over compatibility, they legally can't. It's a single point of failure.

@ShopowVR VRChat is not at fault here, it’s the developer of CyanTrigger who refuses to support and update it and because of the licensing, VRChat devs cannot do anything even if they wanted

I cannot code/program for the life of me. Having to be forced to either learning how to navigate a million nodes in Udon Graphs/Amplify, or basically become a game developer and be fluent in C#, is utterly lamentable. If having VRChat easily accessible to multiple platforms is a high priority, then why shouldn't there be an easier solution, such as a native trigger action based system, that is fully udon-accessible, similar to CyanTrigger for newer or existing world creators to use for scripting? It feels like VRChat is purposely making it harder for new and existing world creators to express their art, onto the largest VR platform in existence. I can't imagine what's going on for Avatar Creators with Avatar Marketplace right now. I do my best to try to inspire and help a lot of friends and players, to start learning how to make a VRChat world, even with crazy limitations (like me using a 12-year old laptop to make worlds like "City of Liliya"). Restrictions require improvisation, but this restriction needs more than improvising on. VRCat is sad right now. 💔🐈📦

@ShopowVR Part of the reason I put almost all my GitHub code under MIT, is so that people can continue where I left off. People stop wanting to support things, VRC can't build everything, but new people can pick up where others stopped. Just noone can in this case because of the license.

@Ridge_XR The thing people forget, both worlds and avatars can still make something that is close to this. We can just code it ourselves. This is just the built-in feature. People had systems for this before vrc did it. If someone can't afford vrc+ do it yourself. You have the option.

I've seen a lot of people complaining about this feature being VRC+ only, but honestly, GOOD. Do it more. People should have reasons to buy VRC+, I would like to see VRChat become fully community-funded eventually rather than running off investor money forever.
