Fuel prices are dependent on international supply and demand. The more local prices demand the supply of oil the more expensive it is, so now if we import barrels of oil from other countries for less prices the less our local prices

Guys, South Africa is a global player and abides by global rules! Iran may offer cheap fuel for South Africa (which I certainly believe is unfounded unless there are genuine reports suggesting such), SA’s fuel price is based on an import parity model, it follows global oil prices, not special deals.

Even if Russia offers discounted fuel or Iran allows passage, SA’s fuel price is based on an import parity model, it follows global oil prices, not special deals. Markets react immediately to war, but we feel it later because prices are adjusted monthly and affected by the rand/dollar rate.
It’s not about ships or “cheap fuel” or if you like “Ramaphosa”, it’s global pricing.
