To those waiting on responses from me re: cat updates, adoption apps, emails, etc., please bear with me, I'm dealing with a personal kitty problem and am devoting my time to that. I'll be back on track soon.

😂😂 either that, or she knows that my family (parents and I) have a long history of working with animal rescue, so figured that there’s no way I’d leave her out in the cold for the night and didn’t have some cat food in the house! (and that while we really can’t provide a good long term foster home for her and her assumed babies, I’ll try to find her one ASAP. i mean, she seems to be pretty alright in the guest bathroom, certainly not upset about it, and I of course go in to hang out with her for a bit a few times a day, and also shut the bedroom door when the giant dog is napping or resting on the bed and open the door and she if she wants to come slonk around downstairs for a few minutes, which, she usually does, but earlier today she was laying on her blanket pile in there and just kept looking at me with some slow eyes like “nope, don’t wanna come out right now, thanks though!” but, it’d be great if we had some digs more luxurious than my guest bathroom figured out asap! 😂)

update: …yeah yeah, no microchip/multiple other people have seen her around the neighborhood for a few weeks and have at least given her some wet food, but they all said she was “too skittish and scared to eat in front of them or even be slowly lured inside” (???), my vet agrees that she looks a bit pregnant, a random woman in a local FB group is mad at me bc she thinks I am doing everything wrong here or whatever, she is still cozy and seemingly pretty happy in the spruced up guest bathroom suite, etc.

hmmmm…. you snuck up on us while we were putting away stuff from Costco and seem pretty adamant that you live here, but I don’t think you live here? okay, you can live in the guest bathroom for a night or two while we find where you DO live (or, a place for you to live!)

If you are in Florida right now with a Cat 5 hurricane bearing down and you walk into a voting booth next month and vote for any of the GOP Representatives who are at this moment claiming they can defund NOAA in the future, and that they don't need to return from vacation immediately to authorize additional FEMA money during one of the most traumatic storm seasons in recent history, well, we are still hoping for you. Human life is precious and this coming blow is frightening.
But Darwinism itself is slack-jawed in wonder at what the fuck is in your brains, such as they are.

I’ve felt a void in my life ever since my cat passed last year so I went and adopted the cat with the saddest eyes at the shelter. Hopefully he likes Bailey and astronomy and I can give him happy eyes 🥺

I had a minor stroke of genius & turned to the Throng of Moms at school pickup & asked: anyone know someone missing a grey cat?
Almost immediately someone said: that sounds like Barb’s cat!
She is indeed Barb’s cat, now reunited & on their way to the emergency vet
I realize this destroyed my work day + Patreon end of month but I’m SO GLAD I took care of that cat & didn’t just send it to be put down. I’m sorry to all, but I think I did ok

Update: turns out the person who got ahold of me is not actually the owner, she just knows someone who hit a cat with her car and has been trying to help find the cat. So I’m trying to care for & make decisions for this cat while trying everything to find the owner before animal control takes her…it’s breaking my heart

@Michaela_Cogs @OneNerdyOpinion @WajahatAli Same here. I came home from college with 2 cats and housed them in the basement because my dad was anti-cat, and shortly it was "oh it's too cold for them down there", and I have a photo of my dad carefully holding a bowl up so the cat could lick it.
