Common sense has entered the chat…. While the Ontario prosecutors office has decided spending a few more million taxpayer dollars to appeal our aquitals and sentencing is perfectly fine, seeking 7 years in prison for myself and 8 years for @ChrisBarber1975, violent and repeat non-Canadian offenders are having their charges stayed, being granted exceptionally light sentences, and, incredibly, receiving absolute or conditional discharges to ensure their immigration processes won’t be impacted. A two tier justice system is bad enough, but what message does this sent to the victims? Kudos to this Judge for speaking out.

Ministers will set the rules for how your data is collected, retained, and accessed — through regulation, not through open debate in Parliament. Bill C-22 is not just about access to your data. It is about control over the system that makes that access possible.
