It's not your conventional child abuse tale, there are facts but not graphic unpleasantness, it's a story but it's interspersed with unusual humour as it unfolds about survival whilst having been dealt a bad hand in life and neglected. Only 99p and great value all day long.

She always had a story to tell but was reluctant to divulge a tale she wasn't sure anyone would believe, and she was afraid to expose the guilty parties. Some folk might fully relate while for others her story would be an eye-opener .. it's still a great summer read however.

She did survive not without jumping many hurdles, getting into bad company, living among the margins of society, taking up lethal habits to block out her reality, and hiding horrendous secrets. She nearly didn't make it.

N.E Childe injected humour into what would be a story of anguish, and she didn't want pity, just recognition for her plight.

She could be any child, quite literally, and now grown up and middle-aged, she looks back on how she managed to survive a turbulent childhood. These sessions with her therapist were an attempt to move on and accept that life isn't fair, not all the time.
