Farooqi, 69, is a da'ee from Manchester who has been in prison for 16 years. He was convicted of planning terrorist attacks after policeman pretending to be Muslim covertly recorded him. Supporters say he never had any real intent or ability to do anything, and the case was a classic example of police entrapment and a gross miscarriage of justice. His family say that Farooqi, who is currently incarcerated in HMP Frankland in Durham, has suffered multiple amputations caused by prison neglect. They say: • He's been held in complete insolation in a Separation Centre (prison within a prison) for the past 8 years. - HMP Frankland are not giving him the daily medications he needs for his blood pressure and diabetes. - They are not giving him urgent medical attention for the shortness of breath he has been reporting for months. - They are not giving him an inhaler to aid his breathing. - They are not giving him medical attention and are cancelling his GP appointments. - They are not providing him with the support he requires for his personal hygiene and cleanliness as a disabled person.
