@PhilipCharlesIV @Abe_OGBullsFan @Moochaveli I suspect he was given a fair shake last year, and he struggled in practice. It was likely clear he needed the G-League, and that development was cut short. We’ll know more after the summer league.

@Abe_OGBullsFan @cbefred @Moochaveli It's not as if he wasn't universally considered a lottery talent. He was. Thats what I mean. I just wanna see him get a fair shake, and I think that includes some NBA action. If he's just the drizzling shits, then fine, send him back down to the G League. No harm, no foul.

Noa Essengue has never shot the 3 at an acceptable rate at any level of basketball. He also hurt his shoulder, which likely slowed his shooting development. In his Windy City stint, he shot just 23.8% from 3 on over 5 attempts per game. He may eventually become a very good player, but the idea that he’s going to step into the NBA this season and suddenly shoot the ball well enough to be an offensive contributor defies logic.

@cbefred He probably needs to spend the start of the season in the g league, people making graphics with him in the lineup is ridiculous

@cbefred Yeah he’s just not ready to play and that’s before you even factoring in that we’re gonna have Matas and Wilson (or Boozer) eating up most of the F mins

@PhilipCharlesIV @Duarte_Muse @Moochaveli There is nothing worse for a player than to give him playing time he doesn’t deserve. If every player on the roster sees his ass getting kicked in practice, & he is given time he doesn’t deserve, it’s awful for everyone in the long the run…the coach, the player, the team.

@PhilipCharlesIV @cbefred @Moochaveli Ayo, Coby, Tre, Jalen, Matas, Giddey, Miller, Caruso, DJJ seem like fairly good players. Some people and not everyone, including anyone in this reply will actively root for players to do poorly to fit a narrative. It will be nice seeing Noa and others compete with new arrivals.

@SanityLostSzn Whoever Graham and his team draft/determine is deserving. If it’s Noa, that would be great, but he wasn’t close to deserving last year. Maybe he’ll have an incredible summer. I certainly hope so. We’ll see how he looks in summer league.

What “negative thoughts” are you referring to? It’s not an attack or negative to share facts…Noa never shot over 30% from 3 in Germany (with a shorter line), he shot below 30% in summer league & G League. He hurt his shoulder. To think he will magically will be suddenly better enough to deserve PT isn’t a personal attack. He may need a full year in the G-League. We’ll see.

@cbefred @PhilipCharlesIV @Moochaveli Fred if you didn't see it or converse with fans in different channels with that attitude that's fine. Not even saying it's a bad thing. Any and all negative thoughts people have about the team the players can use as fuel to get better.

@PhilipCharlesIV @Moochaveli How did Billy Donovan gifting a 19 year old Patrick Williams 1,983 minutes that he didn’t deserve, work out for us? Ayo played a lot as a rookie because he was freaking good. I don’t agree with your underlying assertion on Billy. It’s contradicted by the facts.

@Robeuz The Knicks-Spurs-OKC wouldn’t be where they are today without shooting bigs.

No one expects him to be an offensive savior next season, or ever. But no one is entitled to playing time anymore now that the tanking era is dead with the new rules. If he struggles again shoot to least 30% from 3, and struggles to defend because he’s too slight, he will barely play again. He’s shown nothing to be entitled to anything. He was the 12th pick by a terrible evaluator of talent, who had far more misses than hits. Why expect anything? He has size, he’ll get a chance, but unless we see massive improvement in the critical skill of shooting, he’s spend another year “developing”. That should be our expectation.

@cbefred @Moochaveli I don't think anyone expects him to be an offensive savior when by all meaning of the word except literally, he'll be a rookie. I just want to see him play. I don't really care if he sucks as a 20 year old. I care a lot more about how he is when he's 22.

@Ryatt34 Agreed, he’s not 20 until December. PWill was 19 once too, and we used his age as an excuse for a good 3-4 seasons. I hope he develops someday…he likely won’t shoot well enough to help now, if ever.

@cbefred He's pretty much youngest player in the league and younger than most guys in this draft. He's a kid still. The new FO needs to develop him as best possible. Just hope he can be

@vincentwhwong @nathanlukeylu He is nowhere near remotely strong enough to play C. He will be manhandled every bit as bad, if not worse, than Matas has been in his first 2 years. He’s barely 200 pounds.

@nathanlukeylu @cbefred Noa playing at center or pf probably changes my expectations on what level I would need his shooting to be to be a successful NBA player. But you're right 73% from the line is actually a decent indicator that it's not a doomed endeavor

@nathanlukeylu Maybe in a couple years, but the shoulder injury is a significant reason why you shouldn’t expect him to be suddenly playable this year.

@cbefred Noah and Matas both shot around the same in their respective pre-NBA seasons. No reason why he couldn’t get up around 35% or so in a couple year like Matas did
