100% why coaches should teach using outside leverage as much as possible. I know this is zone with a tight split, but in general there is WAY too much inside man being taught. DBs need to have vision on the ball so they can learn to attack and become the offensive player. Back to the QB puts you in too reactive a position. VERY few CBs can make plays consistently with their back to the ball. The GREATS are all masters at READING THE QB.
