.@CBP mourns the loss of Border Patrol Agent Sean M. McDonough. BPA McDonough started his CBP career in 2007. He recently served at the Wellesley Island Border Patrol Station, Buffalo Sector in New York. He also served in Nogales Station and in Houlton Sector. BPA McDonough also served in the U.S. Army, Army National Guard, and as a Military Police Officer. He is a true hero who selflessly served to protect America. As a CBP family, we extend our deepest condolences to the family, friends and colleagues of BPA McDonough.

Our Caribbean Air and Marine Branch spotted the go-fast running lights out 35nm offshore. Then the Coastal Interceptor Vessel and UH60 Blackhawk closed in, stopped the vessel, and made the seizure. Flawless teamwork!

🚨Miami Marine Unit Intercepts Lights-Out Smuggling Vessel: 25 Illegal Aliens Detained in Midnight Operation. On April 26, at approximately 12:30 a.m., Marine Interdiction Agents from the Miami Marine Unit successfully interdicted a lights-out vessel detected by radar, 5 nautical miles east of Miami. The 28 ft vessel, operated by a suspected smuggler, carried 24 additional occupants from multiple nationalities attempting to enter the U.S. illegally. Nationalities included: Haitian, Romanian, Colombian, Bahamian, Moldovan, and Jamaican. All subjects were transported to USCG Cutter Winslow Greisser for processing, and the vessel was seized for violation of 8 USC 1324. The case has been referred to @HSI_Miami for investigation. #BorderSecurity #AMO #USCG

His unwavering commitment to protecting our nation, saving lives, and fostering teamwork across agencies made a profound impact on all who had the privilege to work alongside him. William’s dedication to maritime operations, search and rescue, law enforcement, and vessel boardings was matched only by his compassion and integrity. Multi-Role Enforcement Aircraft detects Migrant Vessel Bound for Puerto Rico: On March 27, a Caribbean Air and Marine Branch aircrew detected a homemade yola-type vessel with multiple people off the coast of Puerto Rico. With a coordinated surveillance and tracking, the crew coordinated with the US Coast Guard Cutter Thetis to successfully interdict the vessel about 51 nautical miles northwest of Desecheo Island. A preliminary count reported 53 migrants of mixed Dominican and Haitian nationalities apprehended. Attempting maritime migration in homemade vessels is extremely dangerous, risking lives due to unpredictable seas, overcrowding, and lack of safety equipment. This operation highlights the ongoing efforts to secure our maritime borders and ensure safety at sea. #USCG #AMO #DontTakeToTheSeas
