Today is the Feast of Santa Sophia! In Primary we celebrated by starting the day with a classroom liturgy with our teachers and Principal. Saint Sophia is a 1st century Saint whose name means ‘Holy Wisdom’, one of the values of our school. #santasophiacc

Our new @CatholicEdParra curriculum calls us to contemplate on action, and act on contemplation - contemplation is one of the heart dispositions at the core of the curriculum. @scarroll_cedp @MonicaOfficer @ccassar1

#Pope: When we contemplate, we discover in others and in nature something much greater than their usefulness. We discover the intrinsic value of things given to them by God.

Working with Yr5 teachers yesterday, who were sharing some students' RE work. One wrote in a response: "Prayer is love". I need to find some time to talk to him... I think it could turn out to be a deep theological conversation.

Our Year 7 students were able to present their ‘blessing bags’ and scarves for the homeless to Reno from the St Vincent de Paul society today. They had been working on these for their PIP. It was a wonderful chance for our students to give to those less fortunate. #santasophiacc

@fortunat_v It's great to see students recognising the deeper meaning of scripture beyond the literal 'story' on the page. Hopefully this will help them carry the word of God with them throughout their lives. Great work.
