I’m the furthest thing from a Trump supporter, but trying to connect the dots to him and his admin for any of the recent incidents is just not reality. For one, they’re simply not connected. A mid-air, a crash into terrain - very different circumstances.
Last I checked Toronto isn’t (yet 🙄) in the USA either.
There’s plenty to pin on him - just not this. Not yet. Does it appear some of the things he’s doing could negatively affect aviation safety? Sure - but systemic changes they’re implementing won’t cause planes to drop out of the sky instantly. They would more likely cause a statistical increase in accidents, incidents, and close calls over time. Just the facts.

All sorts of lights flashing in the cockpit meant they missed alerts from landing gear warning system, or maybe it didn’t warn them given the flaps issue?
