30-year-old man shot, killed during fight near Lincoln Park bar area The shooting comes one month after a similar one took place blocks away as a group was leaving a popular Lincoln Park bar. By Francie Swidler NBC Chicago Published 4 hours ago Updated 19 minutes ago The shooting, near Lincoln and Webster, left a 30-year-old man killed, Chicago police said. A man was shot and killed late Sunday night near a popular bar area of Chicago's Lincoln Park, with police still on the scene early Monday morning collecting evidence and one person in custody. According to police, the shooting unfolded about 11:43 p.m. in the 2200 block of North Lincoln Avenue near the intersection of Lincoln and Webster. Last month, a shooting that stemmed from a fight took place less than a block away, at Lincoln and Belden Avenues as a group was leaving a nearby bar. Sunday night's shooting also stemmed from a fight, police said, after someone took out a gun during a physical altercation. That person then fired multiple shots at a 30-year-old man, who was transported to a nearby hospital in critical condition. The man was later pronounced dead, police said. Photos and video from the scene showed lines of police tape covering streets and blocking off roads, bars and restaurants near Lincoln and Webster. More than 20 evidence markers — typically placed near shell casings — could be seen. A gun was recovered, police said. One person was in custody, and charges were pending. #ChicagoScanner #CrimeNews #Shooting
