@El_King888 No, I think it's absurd that people think 30 is old (hence the post). Others are concerned that when they reach their 30s it's too late to start anything new or pursue dreams which is the fault of a society that continuously markets aging as a bad thing.

@ccfosterwrites So you consider eight years out of college old? Wow. Some people really don’t have a concept.

I'm seeing a lot of writers worrying their opportunity to find an agent and sell their books has expired with age and that's absolutely not true. I was 31 when we sold my debut! Your dreams don't expire when you hit 30 despite what society tells you! Keep going!

@plongrass It stresses me out every time I see a post. Society has conned way too many people into thinking their life is over once they hit their 30s which is absurd!

@ccfosterwrites Who is stressing about being over the hill at 30? Most authors are way older than that when they publish their *first* book, and far older still for follow-ons.

@postler There are a lot of authors who didn't break out until they were in their 50s and older! There's no limit on creativity!

@K_Coopersmith This applies to all aspects of the career. Whether it's a freelance professional, a literary agent, or an acquisitions editor. They should understand your vision and reflect your strengths as a writer AND have the technical skills required to do their jobs.

@ccfosterwrites It’s also important that they *get* your work and your vision for the story and can help bring it to the next level! Just because an editor is talented doesn’t mean they are always the best match

@pippawestauthor Me! I was 31 when I signed with Alex and sold my book! I'll be 33 when it comes out. It's never too late to chase a dream. A lot of bestselling authors didn't break out until their 40s and 50s!

Did anyone get their agent after they turned 30?😭😭I am feeling so behind compared to a lot of querying authors, but i know everyone's journey is different.
