Today is my first day at Anthropic.
Super excited I shipped my first change today, added source maps so debugging is easier.
Can’t wait to show you all what I’ve been working on!

@GergelyOrosz LOL, he is working on a Rust version as well, check the branches.

@AngelicaOung @baoshaoshan And there is the big status quo that is between China-US, or among the world, which is also changing.
English

@baoshaoshan So true. Today’s status quo is a lot more fragile
English

The problem is they want Status Quo forever and that’s not going to happen. We are not at the end of history. We are just getting to the end of history’s intermission.

@hasanthehun Taiwan doesn’t want reunification either. Do you care?

@FY4Chan @HistorianZhang @citoyennetomate This could be the second historical change to Chinese language... the first was in Qin-Han dynasty when writing system was changed. Now it is to the spoken language.
English

@HistorianZhang @ccgg31 @citoyennetomate I hear you. But, also, note more and more (primary, especially) schoolkids speaking Putonghua among themselves. 😬
English

They're also rapidly disappearing (I think Shanghainese/Wu in particular?)
YTSL@FY4Chan
THIS. (And no, Cantonese, Hokkien, Shanghainese, etc. are NOT mere dialects.)
English

@HistorianZhang @citoyennetomate HK doesn't have the huge immigrants like other cities (Shenzhen, Shanghai...), their kids only speak Mandarin, they don't even speak the parents' dialects.
English

@HistorianZhang @citoyennetomate Hong Kong could be the last defence for Cantonese.
English

@citoyennetomate Unscientific observation is that the younger ones seem to speak it a little more than twenty years ago, but yes it's dying overall
English

@AngelicaOung The status quo is fine, no need to rush or change it radical ly.

@KalamCenter Was there any country called India before 1947? It was like European Union.

John Mearsheimer, political scientist: It's really surprising that Trump allowed himself to fall into Iran's trap
He entered a war in which he cannot win, and from the very beginning it was almost obvious that this confrontation was a foregone conclusion.
The reality is that he will have to make serious concessions to the Iranian side, and when these concessions are made, it will become absolutely clear that Iran has achieved a convincing victory, and for the USA it will be a humiliating defeat.

In a chaotic world, the Sino world was bound to come back together.

Meanwhile, China’s Taiwan Affairs office says the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee and the general secretary of the CPC Central Committee, Xi Jinping have invited chair of the Kuomingtang (KMT) Cheng Li-wun to visit the Chinese mainland from April 7 to 12. #Taiwan

@yousefmsafr Option 3, peace is always the best option, but no need to face-off with US.
English

@Michellel1126 @mysty812 Exactly. "Proper English" not having a corresponding plural for "you" is a serious deficiency!
