🚨 NEWS: We're holding an IDC Subcommittee legislative hearing next week to discuss solutions that will protect kids online and ensure Americans’ data privacy rights.

NEWS from me & @AndrewDesiderio @cathymcmorris & @MariaCantwell have a deal on a bipartisan data privacy bill they plan to unveil next week. The proposal would set a national data privacy standard, replacing assorted state standards. Companies would face limits on what data they can collect and use. Another provision would allow individuals to sue "bad actors" for violating their privacy rights. There also would be new data security standards to hold companies accountable if data is hacked or stolen

#AIAct trilogue: it's a wrap! After 36 hours of intense negotiations, EU policymakers have reached a provisional deal on the world's first AI law. Much technical work remains, and it might take weeks to consolidate the text. More details to follow on the political agreement.
