We’re bringing fine art to the crypto world.  No NFTs, no tokenisation. We're pioneering a new standard: the RFT (the Real Fkin Thing). But let’s rewind a couple weeks. My brother Zef and I (@sentido_sol) are in Dubai for the holidays. It's turned into an end-of-year tradition where the rest of the family flies out from London to visit. Over brunch, we chat about how each of our years have gone. Zef had spent most of it working in the Curatorial team at Pallant House Gallery, after finishing his Master's at Sotheby's the year before. I had spent it within the startup space on Solana. He begins to tell me of pieces he's sold this year to private collectors, but the truth is, I'm not really listening. My mind was distracted. There was something here. An opportunity to bring the world of the arts to the world of crypto. The idea came to mind: fall in love with a piece, send stables, and we'll handle the rest. I’d witnessed the legends @watchking69 and @BrenzGarage do similar, cornering the crypto-native markets for watches and cars respectively. 'Let's cater exclusively to crypto people' I blurted out. He shot me a look, replying, 'the same people who paid $500k for the ape pictures?' Wasn't our finest moment 😄, I thought to myself. But behind the light-hearted jibe, he saw the vision as I did. As I finished up writing this tweet, I was thinking about what truly separates fine art from the likes of watches or cars. A text popped up from Zef. 'Art has superseded empires, generations, economy and war. Once you realise that, you can never look at it the same again.' Welcome to Cedar & Spring. We source art that you love, and deliver it to your doorstep. First piece drops next week.

Going to Art Basel Qatar? You should definitely stop by @Lisson_Gallery Booth No.M315 Olga de Amaral’s Cesta Lunar (Moon Basket) series stands among the celebrated achievements in contemporary textile art. Drawing on the logic, structure, and symbolism of traditional basket weaving from Colombia, these works transform an intimate, domestic form into radiant, contemplative objects. By invoking the word cesta (basket), Amaral deliberately honours Indigenous weaving traditions of her home country and the wider region, particularly the tightly coiled vessels of the Yanomami. Across a practice spanning more than sixty years, Amaral has continually pushed the possibilities of fibre, turning humble materials into powerful experiences of colour, space, and light. As Latin American art becomes increasingly central to global collecting, Amaral’s work stands out for its rarity, material sophistication, and historical importance.

'Countenance' (2025) Joe Grieve 272 x 180 cm Available Joe Grieve’s paintings unfold as meditations on scale, sensation, and the limits of perception. Their restless arcs of colour and intricately layered surfaces suggest worlds in flux, where the minute and the monumental appear momentarily aligned. Grieve has written that the energy animating these works “is not just spiritual but exists in the scientific world too,” pointing toward forces that structure reality while remaining beyond touch or certainty. His surfaces feel governed by what might be called the unknowable laws of the universe, systems that “surround us” yet resist comprehension. Abstraction and figuration remain in a delicate tension, allowing colour to exist both as pure pleasure and as a conduit to meaning. Grieve does not seek explanation. He aims, instead, to “transcend the literal” and to explore “the non-physical realm that exists beyond our immediate perception.” Grieve studied at the City & Guilds Art School in London, and has exhibited at several galleries across the UK including lbf contemporary, BWG gallery and Coulston Arts. Date Night (2023) Tonye Ekine 190 x 150cm 'Date Night' captures the subtle tension of contemporary social rituals. Set around an elegantly dressed dining table, the figures appear composed and ceremonial, yet emotionally guarded, creating a quiet psychological charge that holds the viewer’s attention. The work draws on Ekine’s sustained engagement with the Ife bronze masks, referencing the ancient Yoruba city of Ife and grounding the painting in a rich cultural lineage. These forms introduce both historical depth and political resonance, subtly addressing themes of identity, concealment, and resilience within a contemporary setting. Ekine’s profile continues to gain momentum. He is a two-time finalist for the Ingram Prize, has recently completed a residency at Art House Wakefield, and has exhibited at major venues including the Barbican and Christie’s. His work has also been featured in Harper’s Bazaar, making ‘Date Night’ a compelling addition to a serious collection. For the long read: @cedarspringceo DMs open for enquiries.
