@ITVNewsPolitics @Nigel_Farage ADHD isn’t a trendy label Neurodivergence is protected under the equality act which you want to get rid pf We’re not victims Work is not designed for neurodivergent brains Especially when employers discriminate against us What do you want, for us to be locked up? 🧵 on profile

'We're quick to label people with ADHD and many other problems and tell them they're victims' @Nigel_Farage says Reform will tackle the issue of youth unemployment through 'cultural change' to encourage hard work

@NeilForPoole Agreed However, LCWRA should never have been cut Being disabled is not an incentive to not work We cannot work New claimants lose over £2000 in a year but the so called inflation increase adds £24.85 a month

What's life like if you can't afford essentials? Empty fridge. Cold home. Bills piling up. Health suffers. Education suffers. Work suffers. That shouldn't be normal in Britain. The solution: link social security to the cost of essentials so everyone can afford the basics.

@TrisOsborneMP Great but People still waiting months even years for specialist treatment or assessment Local CFS clinic still closed to new referrals because of high demand I can’t get assessed for a chronic condition Been waiting months for mental health too and talking therapy rejected it

This is an incredible piece of work. Amazing detail and terrifying headlines: by 2029, we'll be spending £177bn on working age welfare. That could run our courts for nearly 80 years. Some constituencies are getting half a billion in benefits a year. This cannot go on.

Dismissing our needs, erasing equality, increasing discrimination, telling us to fit into a world that’s not designed for our brains, ripping up support, telling us we’re worthless, should just hide away, reducing us to a number to justify cuts, not believing us We deserve support

Some are so quick to dismiss Autism/ADHD & mental health as just labels, but as someone with both - I can tell you it’s a nightmare Environment - senses are turned up to 11 You’re on edge all the time A sudden change can cause spirals, meltdowns, burnout Stress does the same

I see 29% of disabled people planning to vote Reform. Do they imagine they are the "right" kind of disabled people who won't be hit by Reforms views on disability and mental illness, exempt from no support of employee and will fare well under health insurance? You live and learn

@cedgson91 @Helen_Barnard @LabourList @CatherineWest1 I'm surprised at Helen from Trussell Trust no less, for taking this spin face at face value. Cuts to welfare is false economics. Cuts create further poverty, that's a fact. Poverty cost society far more than can ever be saved by welfare cuts. Another fact.

@Carlynotcarley The whole story doesn’t sound too bad The Liberal Democrats have called for Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) services in England to be designated as critical national infrastructure to stop vulnerable children being treated as "cash cows" by private investors.

@Keir_Starmer Still excluding disabled people though Nearly 50% cut to LCWRA WE CAN’T WORK BECAUSE WE ARE DISABLED Calling benefits a perverse incentive is disgraceful Severe conditions criteria is too restrictive Disabled people have living costs as well and many are already in poverty

Tackling the cost of living is my government’s number one priority. National Living Wage and the Pension Triple lock increased from April. Rail fares frozen. Extending free school meals, 5p fuel duty and capping bus fares at £3. Change does not happen overnight, but change is happening.
