Houston's Kevin Durant is expected to miss Game 4 against the Los Angeles Lakers, sources tell ESPN. Durant has a bone bruise in his sprained ankle, which would sideline him 2 to 3 weeks in season. He's had around-the-clock treatment to play but has not been cleared by doctors.

I look at a potential C.J. Stroud extension the same way I did the Nico Collins extension. I knew the level of player Collins was, just like I know the level of quarterback Stroud is. With that belief, waiting for a “prove-it” year carries far more downside than upside. I’ve also realized the discourse around Stroud might actually be more favorable if he had missed the playoffs altogether. That sounds odd, but it speaks to the importance of evaluating the full picture, not just one or two games. By that logic, he’s almost being penalized in the public eye for making the playoffs and winning a playoff game. Whether an extension happens remains to be seen—it takes two sides to get a deal done—but the Texans should absolutely be looking to lock it in sooner rather than later. Article soon.
The Texans have exercised the 2027 fifth-year options on the contracts of QB CJ Stroud and All Pro DE Will Anderson, per source. Stroud is now due $25.904M in 2027, while Anderson is due $21.512M. Both players are also extension eligible.
