@GersonJAvila @FOXSoccer @USMNT Agree to disagree. You can try to inspire, but if they have no heart, no inspiration will do. Remember he inherently the majority. Starting with "no fight" Pulisic
English

@cegm72 @FOXSoccer @USMNT The buck stops with the manager. If he is not able to recruit the right players with the right mentality and then convince them to battle each game like it is their last match friendly or not then it is the manager’s defeat too. Look at the Uruguay vs England game.
English

@Pantsalot11 @11Yanks Ideas that was weak as fuck showing. He has no heart. It's obvious. So keep believing the hype
English

Pathetic excuse from Pulisic here. Can you imagine any other national team's best player saying this & not getting piled on by the fans & media.
But we have a soft soccer culture, so we'll let it pass.
Paul Kennedy@pkedit
Jersey confusion: Pulisic said it was “very difficult.”
English

@Eyesandvibes Pulisic has no heart and is in no form to make matters worse. He belongs in the bench
English

@Eyesandvibes He is bench material. Our supposedly best player, has no heart
English

@JayHrndz2 Dude, the team has no will to fight as is. Bringing a guy that doesn't want to be there will not fix that issue. He is obviously not committed enough to play for us. But I hope I'm wrong if he does make a decision

Landon Donovan said the US didn’t need him

I think this is the honest truth about each of our GK options.
Turner: Past his best. Performances for USMNT have dropped off. The past 24 months he’s been bad for the NT. Started promising and earned the role he got, but eventually he failed in his opportunities in top leagues. Feet were too mediocre and a little too error prone with keeping too. He’s returned to MLS and been competent at that level, but he’s getting older, has not regained his best level, and we know this current Turner is a liability compared to the rest of the lineup.
Freese: He’s been semi-competent for the NT in the last year. I wouldn’t say he’s done a “good” job, but the errors have been at a minimum. The issue is he’s not really shown he can make a difference in a positive way. The best he’s shown is he’s not an active hindrance, and even that has varied depending on the game. It’s basically the same skillset issues as Turner. Hasn’t shown Turner’s best level yet. Hasn’t shown the appetite to try his hand abroad. Getting older (27). His level in MLS right now is lower than at his best (early last season or late season before). Is he worth caps or just a 2nd/3rd GK?
Brady: He’s been a pretty solid MLS GK over a few years. Hasn’t quite elevated into an elite MLS GK yet or hit Turner (or even Freese’s) best level yet. Of course, that’s not to say he’s not better than both right now. He might be. Completely inexperienced at international level. Zero caps. Skillset is probably roughly similar to Turner and Freese (good shot stopper and size, mediocre feet). He’s less “error prone” from what I’ve seen, but maybe just hasn’t faced competition yet that can expose him. Looking like he reasonably can at least hit Turner’s level with time (keep in mind he just turned) 22 and maybe can reach a Howard/Friedel/Keller level eventually, but is this the right time to turn to him?
Schulte: He’s sort of fallen a little behind in the pecking order, but I think it’s fair to mention he was injured last season, and played through those injuries, his play suffered, and he lost opportunities he would’ve gotten. He’s now healthy again and playing relatively well for his club. Has the best feet of the five. His feet are fine, even if not a huge strength. Question is whether his top level really has that athletic gear of the other four. Also has made some mistakes in big games. Is this a player who can really raise the level and compete for the #1 or is he just a pool GK? He’s relatively young at 25, but getting to that point with his career where he needs to head abroad or elevate with the senior team or he’ll lose the potential shine of his profile.
Celentano: Has some sneaky upside IMO. He shows flashes of high end ability in all areas. Has the smoothest game of the five and he’s also still relatively young (25), but he’s struggled for consistency in MLS and never been highly rated in the NT pecking order. Has he proven enough and is he in high enough regard or are some of the higher end plays a mirage? Getting to that “prove it” age like Schulte.
Briefly on others: Steffen isn’t too dissimilar of a situation to Turner, but probably even lower-end. Horvath has had a few nice USMNT moments, but his club career doesn’t suggest he deserves opportunities. Kochen is a player with appealing upside, but hasn’t gotten the chance to prove himself yet at the first team level. Slonina is in club situation purgatory, and won’t be able to state his case again (a fair case IMO) until that changes.
Thoughts?
USMNTProspects@ProspectsUsmnt
This isn’t a huge blunder, but this is simply not good enough goalkeeping for a game of this caliber. A GK not saving this might be the thin margins in a round of 16 game. In fact, I think Turner at his best saves this. He’s past his best and not good enough anymore. Next.
English

@NobletStrength @joshua_reports But that's just the thing. We play no role because we let them do that. We put no pressure on the federation or the team. We hold them to low expectations, and that is not a winning mentality
English

@joshua_reports Are you under the impression that the team and coaching staff aren't looking at how to fix the problems or do you think the US Fans need to? Both assumptions are wild because the first is of course they are and the second is literally irrelevant. We play no role.
English

It’s very much in our nations weak football culture to cling to meaningless statements like this.
As true as it might be, you should be able to look inwards after a bad result, even if it’s a friendly. #USMNT

Belgium head coach Rudi Garcia after the @USMNT loss on Saturday 🇺🇸
English

@SinCuentaEstrel @TaylorTwellman Oh so name calling, ok. No you are just a pussy that's never played the position. That's why keepers need to have excellent reflexes to make that happen. Idk who you are, but you sound like any other pundit making excuses for a less than average team. Probably a fat fuck.
English

@cegm72 @TaylorTwellman off a shot that was a certain goal. you're braindead.
English

FWIW. I thought Turner should have gotten this and I’m not sure it’s that hot of a take. Thoughts?! #USMNT

@TheBolivianYank I don't agree fully. Yes Weah could have done better, but those CBs were god awful. Plus Roldan for Cardoso was a huge mistake
English

We are so screwed outside of really our starting 11. Weah struggled too much on the right wing…
Poch has a lot of work to do…
Edgar@ConcacafEdgar
This team cannot defend 🤣
English

@PaulTenorio Maybe, but some people are not cutout to be a starter or even on the team. Pulisic should be benched. Ream gone. McKenzie bench. Roldan gone. Outside of Jedi and Mckennie the team has no heart
English

Why a 5-2 loss to Belgium in March might be the best thing to happen to the #USMNT ahead of the games that matter in June.
Sometimes getting smacked in the face with reality is exactly what you need.

English

@EinSchwarzwelt Dude is not just MLS, although I mostly agree. Pulisic has no heart nor will to win, Balogun, McKenzie, Weah were average at best. Only Jedi and Mckennie showed up to play. The rest...uninspiring. Although I have to admit that subbing out Cardoso for Roldan was a major blunder
English

Yes? Your MLS LB can't defend, your two MLS midfielders can't defend runners and were getting mogged in almost every 2nd ball and otb aswell.
Logically, you can't say a single thing to defend this disastrous 2nd half unless you're being retarded or want to argue just bc.
Romario Education Account@V2_Romario
@EinSchwarzwelt I thought it was all MLS’s fault? Is that not the case?
English

@TheBolivianYank Size nor speed is the issue. They have no will or heart. There's the issue. Like Pulisic, they are soft and have no fight
English

@ProspectsUsmnt Trusty for McKenzie. And Scally is iffy. Up top bench prima Donna Pulisic. He has no heart.
English

@usmnt_historian Lmao really? The same dude that did nothing up front and has no heart or will to win?? Like you said, we'll see. As of right now, he should be riding bench
English

@soccerfan2026 @USMNT @ATT Well, I don't completely disagree with you but...Pulisic has no heart, McKenzie, Balogun and Weah were average at best. That's 4 from Europe there. Can't blame just 1 side
