Host-parasite interactions can lead to negative frequency-dependent selection. Stevens et al. sequence the genomes of parasites of house and wood mice, finding that proteins that interact with host immune responses are often highly diverse.

@slavov_n The LFC implementation of both is incorrect, for different reasons. The arithmetic is in the Supplementary Notes of biorxiv.org/content/10.110… I can write a short thread explaining their shortcomings tomorrow (one of the programs is in a sense more wrong than the other!)
