Today, as discussant, I was engaged in a powerful research on European efforts in restricting minors’ access to online pornography by raising the deeper question of whether our legal frameworks can truly keep pace with the digital reality. @uni_lu

A core question is “Where do we need interoperability the most and how do we ensure it works efficiently across systems that differ in purpose, governance and design?” The next real task is aligning these layers so they reinforce openness rather than create new fragmentation.

I reflect on three systems that embody different governance models and layes of the digital stack: GAIA-X, Wire and Sover. These examples emphasize that sovereignty and interoperability exist in multiple forms such as federated, private, national and hybrid.

Joining as an expert the #OpenInternet #OpenEconomy round-table at the @EUI_EU organized by #GIFI was a meaningful opportunity to contribute to the discussion on how sovereignty and interoperability are emerging as strategic design principles in Europe’s Internet architecture.

This false nomenclature of “researcher” and “engineer”, which is a thinly-masked way of describing a two-tier engineering system, is being deleted from @xAI today. There are only engineers. Researcher is a relic term from academia.
