My daughter Annika is proudly autistic and 12 years old. She drew this butterfly from a photo she took herself — every vein, every scale, rendered by hand on a tablet. She signs everything she makes. Dates it. Like she already knows it matters. She's turning 13 tomorrow. Please share this for her birthday. Let's make her day.

@SaffronKim 1964 = nurse or secretary. I knew I didn’t want to nurse so secretary it was. It took me into some interesting places but I wish I could go back & start again. Think I’ve left it a bit late at nearly 82!

@DeborahMeaden There is no need to add the word 'citrus' if it says the name of the specific citrus fruit anyway, which is how virtually all marmalade is sold currently today. Ie: basically no change.

Can we stop with the marmalade thing. We can still use it it’s just we need to add “citrus” to marmalade as other fruits are used in the EU. Hardly newsworthy…

I seem to have upset the @Nigel_Farage fan club - so let me be clear. This man sows hate, lies and division. He is a grifter and a conman. He does not represent the vast majority of Britons. RT if you agree P.s. multiculturalism is great.

@forwardnotback Conversely. My hospital stay. They brought in an emergency case, many co-morbidities. 'Sorry, prepare yourself for the worst, gather your family' His wife arrived for visiting hours. Visiting ended. 'You may stay longer' say staff 'no, I've got things to do!'😱 Off she trotted.

Visiting time in hospital is interesting to observe at times Today’s example involves the 80 year old man who is being visited by his wife For two hours they read the paper (Daily Telegraph) together in silence exchanging the various sections The only conversation was when they

"This is Ted he is a 96 year old WW2 veteran. He came into my pub today for his lunch. I couldn't help but notice his medals I just had to go and ask him about his life and say thank you for his service to our country. He became really overwhelmed and cried. He said 'thank you young man no one cares about what I have to say anymore.' I told him that I'm sure there are so many people that do. Can we all please like and share this post and show him just how many of do care about our veterans and prove to Ted he's not forgotten. I will show him this post when he comes back for his dinner next week." Credit - animal discovery

@ACTBrigitte How could ANYONE trust him?! I’m proud the UK won’t kowtow to him. How dare he insult my country & my Prime Minister. Your Commander in Chief started this war without any consultation with other countries & he should finish it.

@LeahFHardy Went to collect my script on my way home last week. Got verbal abuse in front of other customers from the pharmacy assistant because I hadn't checked for a text from them. She was absolutely rude and horrible. Im in my 50s , can't imagine what it must be like for older people.

I’ve been trying to get my 85-year-old mum signed on her GP’s app on her old phone for the last two hours with no luck. Keeps demanding two factor authentication apps which my mum won’t understand or to create a digital ID or passcode. This is digital exclusion.

@LeahFHardy @ThornieKate My sympathies. I’m 82 & pretty computer savvy really but Apple have me completely stumped. They asked me to renew my ID using my credit card. I used my debit card, info they already have, but no, it must be a cc. I don’t have, nor want one.Nor do I have a driving licence as I 1/

Magnificent photo taken on the Ukrainian front. 🇺🇦 This soldier, still very young, appears exhausted. The cat, for its part, seems undoubtedly terrified. This is probably one of the most striking photos of this year 2025, regardless of how anyone views this war. And yet, in this embrace, it is difficult to say who is comforting the other. This image was not generated by artificial intelligence, nor was it a montage. It simply restores a little faith in humanity. Just a little. And that's already immense…

For eleven years, a 68-year-old retired forklift truck driver from Mirfield, England began each day by listening to his late wife's voice on their home answering machine message. She had passed away from cancer in 2003. He never changed phone companies. Every time a new provider offered him a better deal, he asked the same question: if I switch, will her voice be kept? The answer was always no. So he stayed. Then in December 2014, Virgin Media, his telephone provider, deleted the message during routine technical work. Stan Beaton described the moment he found out as one of the worst of his life. "I just could not tell people how it affected me," he told BBC Radio Leeds. "It really did devastate me." He contacted Virgin Media and told them what had happened. The executive director of engineering later described the task of finding it as searching for a needle in a haystack. The chances of recovery, he said, were slim. A team of engineers spent three days searching through archived servers anyway. They found it. Virgin Media sent Stan a CD with the recording. He broke down in tears the moment he heard her voice again. Is there a voice you would do anything to hear one more time?
