The factory must grow. But really; expand, advance tech tree, conquer the solar system back to the cosmic balance from the invading lifeforms (humans), harvest resources, defend, build, automate, all that stuff. The hook is no belts, no grids, simulated physics (gravity, heat, etc) and solar system with resource ecosystem, and logistics are ran mostly with railguns

@BeanJuiceStudio Design 5/10 Programming 4/10 Marketing 1/10 Business 0/10 If you make a good game, need for marketing is lesser. If you make it alone, there is not much you can screw with business.

@Raseruuuuu But, you can't go into too much detail in planning. It has to be at a sweet spot between general and detailed - realistic milestones and self control. Efficient hours combined with enough rest is detrimental for anything, really.

@Raseruuuuu Deterministic scheduling and goal oriented project structuring. Sounds lame and boring but it works.

How do y'all indie devs actually finish your games lol 😂 er how do i finish mine it is so damn daunting and there's always not enough time in a day and i don't want to reduce it to an unfulfilling experience by scope knifing it mmmmhh

Every game should have a public demo. The fear of losing sales is overblown. Limiting it to Next Fest is a waste of opportunity. I kept demos for Soulash and Soulash 2 permanently available, and I didn't regret it.

ASEMA gets a tutorial. A tutorial can either be a nuisance, or a bunch of mini games that show you how to do basic things in zero gravity, asteroid belts, gravity well orbits, etc. Because this is a very complex game, player needs also an in game wiki/guide to help with automation. #scifigame #rtsgame #indiedev

ASEMA is being developed with Unreal Engine 5, however, Unreal's ,,physics are not suitable'' for a large automation game like this so it all started by me building a small custom physics engine in CPP. That was a long time ago and now the factory has grown a ton. #unrealengine #gamedevelopment #rtsgame

Building a small beginner's base (automated) - in space, so micro gravity - scoop stuff from the nearby moon - manage in a few tech tree unlocks - logistic railguns set up so the machines feed each others I will ruthlessly do a factorio hashtag here; as a Factorio player myself, I respect the classic genre definer #automation #pcgaming #factorio

Brief guide for people entering ASEMA universe - This is mostly about automation. "So where's the ship I crashed in?" > There is no ship. You are a ship. You did crash but for you, it was a happy crash. "So how do I build belts?" > There are no belts. Build logistic railguns instead. "So where's the grid?" > You don't need a grid. This is freeform. You are in space. "Wait, why is my machine moving?" > See the moon? It's gravity pulls affects your machine. Give it Focus. "How?" > Build a Beacon. "I made one, but it didn't fix it." > Activate it's Focus refiner and provide it Heat. "How?" > Build an Inductor, and attach a Distributor to it. "I cant find it?" > You need to research it first. Just.. play the campaign first. It'll show you the basics. This is not an ordinary factory game. Current development phase: Building the demo, current focus is on the tutorial map.
