Chelsea chiefs hand themselves an 80% pay rise as club suffers record losses. The newly-released accounts of Chelsea FC Holdings Limited, the immediate parent company of the football club, reveal “key management personnel” received a total of £10,593,000 in the 2024-5 campaign – a massive leap from £5,893,000 the previous season. Hate to say it but this signing has sabotaged the trajectory of Arteta’s tenure at Arsenal. He was signed to replace Granit Xhaka, he couldn’t hack it in midfield and he ended up as a CF where he isn’t good either. Declan Rice also had to switch from #6 to #8 because of this signing. It’s been three seasons and no one seems to know his best position but Arteta has to play him because he’s one of the highest paid players at the club.
