@GamerJournalism @IGN Unironically, yes. Exposing Homelander for the cowardly, sniveling little shit he is was SOO much more satisfying than another generic powerslop "battle."
English

The Boys’ final episode may be a bit overly predictable at times, but the strong execution and big character moments make for a satisfying send-off to the series.
Our review: bit.ly/3PijC5j

English

@IGN The point isn't that it was "predictable"... Hell, they said exactly what they wanted to do basically the whole season. The tension wasn't "what will happen?", the tension was "will it work?"
English

@Shrimptroll They were both good and I'm tired of people who definitely don't pay attention to shows (or get mad about their fan theories not happening) completely misinterpret basic elements of the show that are presented to the audience.
English

Surely people don’t actually believe the Stranger Things finale was better
A Shot@ashotmagazine
The series finale of ‘THE BOYS’ is now rated lower than the finale of ‘STRANGER THINGS’.
English

@vetzmovies Because it's a fun movie with charismatic acting. Say what you will about the mess of a story, it's a FUN ride with GREAT acting for basically every character.

How on earth does Rise of Skywalker have a higher audience score than Last Jedi??
Krayt McGraw@KraytMcGraw
Star Wars review scores are the perfect example of why you should be your own critic. Some of the most loved films get slammed, some of the most divisive get praised. At the end of the day, watch what you enjoy, not what Rotten Tomatoes scores tells you to enjoy,
English

@lorxell Avengers: Infinity War wasn't even that long ago...
English

@mofeuxx @ifOnlyKantala I mean, if you liked Homelander for the things he said and did... you deserve everything you feel from that finale.
I loved him for his character. And his end was the most fitting, appropriate, and thematically perfect way to send him off. True to the core of his character.
English

@ifOnlyKantala Not that I watched the whole series:
Homelander is villian.
People like homelander.
Writers didnt want you to like him.
Series became about punishing people who liked him.
English

People wanted Homelander to scorch the Earth,
Don't want to die, and
Win in the end
That’s exactly what’s wrong with people as a society, Makers don't want to leave that image, don't want bad people to win
Homelander did horrible things. He ruined lives, killed innocent people, and treated himself like a god. A character like that doesn’t deserve a glorious ending.
And that’s why his death worked.
He didn’t die with aura or pride. He died like a human being scared, desperate, begging for survival in front of Butcher and live television.
The man who saw himself as a god was reduced to fear and helplessness.
That’s the most satisfying ending a villain like Homelander could get. Evil shouldn’t be rewarded just because it looks cool.

English

@Miguemlg_ @derrickvader @DEADLINE It’s literally hated by ever with a brain, the only ones who like it are left wing…that should tell you something.

Elon Musk Calls 'The Boys' Finale "Pathetic," Eric Kripke Raves: "I'll Never Get A Better Review" deadline.com/2026/05/elon-m…
English

@iamrobtv Homelander "deserves" exactly what he got in the episode. Exposed to the world and the sniveling, weak, pathetic coward he is. Propped up by his powers and surrounded by people afraid of him. It was the perfect ending to his character.

Finally watched the finale of The Boys.
I’ve been very critical of this show the last two seasons because it just simply hasn’t been as good as Seasons 1-3. They began putting all of their creative energy into “how are we going to top the last disgusting, shocking, edgy thing we did” and cared more about the next dick joke than quality storytelling. The fall off in writing between the first three seasons and 4-5 was just insane. & though I do think this final season as a whole wasn’t as bad as S4, it still wasn’t great.
HOWEVER.
The final episode wasn’t bad. I feel Homelander deserved a little bit more spectacle for his last outing, a big mass murder spree, SOMETHING. One of the best TV villains ever—-they teased him popping his lid and going insane on the planet all this time and he never really did it. No Soldier Boy was also a real head scratcher. Not even going to go into the false advertisement with all the marketing and posters, pretty much nothing they marketed ever even happened.
But overall, I’m pretty okay with how things ended and played out. What was a pretty mediocre season had a fairly smooth landing.
And putting this finale in Stranger Things and Game of Thrones finale talks is DIABOLICAL. (ha)
Not even close to as bad as those, don’t put the Boys in that convo, it doesn’t belong in the same sentence as those monstrosities.
RIP the Boys. I will miss this show, flaws and all.

English

@legendaarykay Man, more and more, every day, every year, I'm reminded that people who use the phrase "bad writing" usually don't know a damn thing about writing.
English

@ShroudedHerp @vaughanilla_cos @EliteRageBait It raises the stakes, and requires extra extraordinary effort and sacrifice from our band of boys.
It'll would have been too easy and unsatisfying to just drop the poison and that's it.
English

@vaughanilla_cos @EliteRageBait And that affects the plot….how?
English

I’m convinced I watched something else because that finale was a 9/10 at the minimum.
DiscussingFilm@DiscussingFilm
‘THE BOYS’ series finale is at 6.7 on IMDb. The final 2 episodes are the lowest-rated in the show's history.
English

@EliteRageBait @vaughanilla_cos It's not good that he died. It's good seeing him exposed for the sniveling, weak, pathetic coward that he is. Which is way more impactful than him just dying. It being live streamed was the most important thing.
English

@vaughanilla_cos Niggas will only say it's good because Homelander died
Not anything that led up to it , any power inconsistencies, or lack of action
As long as the nigga that carried the show died, then it was good
English

@vaughanilla_cos I think it adequately paid off every major thing I expected it to. And in a way I was very satisfied with.
An excellent ending.

@BVBlias @TSoS_ If there was ever a video that best captured my feelings about the prequels, it's the Belated Media ones from well before the sequels released. youtu.be/VgICnbC2-_Y?si…

YouTube
English

@cfusionpm @TSoS_ powerful in the films themselves, Anakin’s turn is believable and emotionally built up, strong emphasis on worldbuilding and character development alongside spectacle, and so on...
English

@BVBlias @TSoS_ I can explain exactly why. Bland lifeless acting, cringe dialog, nonsensical plots, midichlorians, lack of cohesive character focus, Ani/Obi relationship and Ani's turn require decades of animated shows to fix, overreliance on spectacle instead of character development, so on...
English

@cfusionpm @TSoS_ Most people who don't like the prequels can't even explain why. They're just biased by the RLM craze of the early 2000s and now dismiss others with the “nostalgia” argument, even though their only criticism is JarJar and always show, that they didnt understand all the dialogue
English

@BVBlias @TSoS_ It is 100% and always "I loved this as a kid." Especially when supported B TCW.
I happened to be late teens/early 20s and hated em.
Folks older than me usually a coin flip, but many hated em, and if they like em now, it's often just ironically or as a way to trash the sequels.
English

@keithdorejel All this does is bring prices back to what they used to be. Ain't nobody paying $6 for a bag of chips. But 5 for $11 is $2.20/bag, AND you get the customer to buy 5 (instead of 1).

@cfusionpm I was -3, 3 months and 3 years old respectively.

@TSoS_ ROTS over ANH is wild. AOTC is also way higher than expected. Respect the boldness!
