@langdaleca I learned recently my dad was a marine in Vietnam. I never met him and he died of a heroin overdose in 1999. I wish I had had the chance to know him.
Your dad persevered despite the cards being stacked against him. Something to be very proud of.

I support THESE teachers. THESE teachers are worth fighting for. All teachers are not equal...

It is a BIPARTISAN GRIFT.
That is why there is outright resistance by Dems and a passive resistance by some in the GOP.
Wives, children, siblings -- funneling money and/or business opportunities to them through manipulating the levers of Govt is how people with six-figure salaries enter Congress as upper-middle class and leave within a decade millionaires many times over.
The NGO Executive Director scam is one of the easiest. And there are a couple layers of insulation that aren't there when they earn salaries with campaign funds.

I think I figured out how folks in Congress are accumulated net worths in the hundreds of millions on middling salaries. . .

No. The pendulum always swings and if we set this precedent then steak is next when someone else is in charge. Get rid of their subsidies and it will remove itself. The free market is the best mandate.

USAID’s Haiti scandal is staggering. The U.S. sent $4.4B after the 2010 earthquake—yet less than 2% reached Haitians, while 56% lined the pockets of D.C. firms.
The Red Cross claimed to shelter 130,000 people—but built just SIX homes.
No transparency. No accountability. USAID and NGOs refuse to answer where the money went—while Haitians were left with nothing.
