🏇 Jigsaw made it 7 straight wins taking out the Quokka at Ascot.
I went back through the TopRate database to see how it stacks up historically, and just how rare a streak like this is, especially with a G1 win.
His winning run dates back to October 2025, with wins across Victoria, New Zealand and Western Australia.
• Led in all 7 wins
• Crossed from barriers 10–13 in 4 of his last 5
• Set a speed that gave the chasers every chance
📊 Historical context:
In the past 20 years, just 14 horses in AUS/NZ have won 7+ consecutive races with at least one G1:
Winx (33, 25 G1s)
Black Caviar (25, 14)
Autumn Glow (11, 3)
Barakey (11, 1)
Treasurethe Moment (9, 4)
Think About It (9, 2)
Incentivise (9, 3)
Atlantic Jewel (9, 3)
Pierro (8, 3)
More Joyous (8, 3)
Crocetti (7, 1)
Marabi (7, 1)
Mystic Journey (7, 1)
Jigsaw (7, 2)
Only two horses have taken a streak like this into their 7YO season:
• Winx
• Jigsaw
(Black Caviar extended hers into her 6YO season)
He’s obviously not in the same talent bracket as many of those names above, but a 7-win streak, including two G1s at this stage of his career, is historically significant.
Under the care of Cindy Alderson, his resurgence as a 7YO stands out as one of the more remarkable training performances we’ve seen in modern times 👏👏👏

@BenAsgariRacing Candidate for HOTY. Two G1 in two countries, two slot races, everything.
If not, he's the people's horse!
English

@letsgoonarun @nickcat7 Agree, but he'll get the fence as Mazu drawn outside of him. If they don't cut each other up early, he'll be hard to get past. Would have loved to seen Jigsaw and Overpass in this race.
English

@nickcat7 Overpass being overlooked? 1st up in the Everest - sits outside Mazu, beat home by KYR and only by a neck to Tempted and a nose to Jimmysstar who sat much closer than usual. This race, maps to sit outside Mazu (again). 7: 5-1-0 on soft tracks and should get one.. overs?

@Matt__Welsh_ Whilst the inside was off, it seemed to play fair, we had horses win from the front, sitting handy and out the back. I've heard more about this track than ones with a travelator on the fence. Rather have a track where horses can win from any position rather than a leader bias...

I’m not convinced punters would be satisfied with the Club’s response to yesterday’s Caulfield track. Surely putting your hand up would’ve been a more suitable response. betsy.com.au/caulfield-trac…

@DLeveator @_Boondie_ Did knuckle just after the start but could have been one pair closer even with that.
English

@_Boondie_ It wins if that dog of a jockey settles her closer to the speed... ffs she had a good draw this time

@TravTurf @TheRacingShow Thanks Trav. Have you heard anything around the plans for one of our favourites, Jigsaw?

Hedged (105 Handicap rating) will be likely topweight for the Oakleigh Plate when weights are announced tomorrow post nominations for the G1 Sprint.
Expect him to have 59kgs, unless any shock nominations tomorrow. @TheRacingShow

@Quinny_1 I was lucky enough to meet some of the owners when News Girl won a race at Caulfield a few weeks before Front Page's first race. They already knew then he was a special one. Great horse and owners.
English

Popular galloper Front Page has been retired.
He won the Kosciuszko in 2022 and 2023
The 9 year-old won eight races from 32 career starts and collected over $3.6 Million in prizemoney and bonuses.
Throughout his career he was trained by Geoff Duryea and then Matthew Dale, winning one Kosciuszko for both trainer.

@ffpunting @theButch1342767 5-6 wide around that first bend, had the straight push forward, waited until we had 600m, gone around the bend before pushing forward.
English

@theButch1342767 U even watch the race hahahaha it had just about everything go wrong

Andy is doing a fantastic job and is a great advertisement for the program!
He is also a very lucky owner🍀

@PowrieBreaking @Nineball_crnpkt @AndrewNJHawkins I think he means black caviar. Still beat them injured and not being ridden out.

Doesn’t fit the narrative of Australia being such a weaker jurisdiction when Royal Champion wins like this…

@beermitchell @georgecarpen1er Well done!
As a former small owner in Lady Shalaa, I'm glad to see some good things coming your way, George.

That's a terrific result first up for the stable.

@decbates Hopefully the glorious ride on Kettle Hill today partially makes you feel better. Ride of the day

@AndrewNJHawkins Apart from the Duke who from the inside will be pushing forward? Quite a few want to sit handy, but not sure they will have too much competition for the lead. Young Werther perhaps.
English

@TravTurf @TheValley @Racing Thought he'd be a good chance in the Caulfield Cup after his win in the Bart Cummings. Get to the front and put the foot down on the corner. Good luck to the many owners in the Melbourne Cup.
English

Just Fine is not likely to be an acceptor in Saturday's Caulfield Cup. Instead is off to @TheValley for the Cup next week, which will be used as lead in to the Melbourne Cup. @Racing

Incredible scenes in Hawthorn this morning… A car believed to be stolen flipped onto its side. @CarltonFC coach Michael Voss, who was inside Barton Cafe, tackled the teenage suspect and held him until police arrived.
And then went back in to get his coffees! Onlookers amazed to say the least.
