@motionpunk1 Vimeo was great for interacting with a community of creatives like other web2 sites. But in retrospect it seems like a bad idea to combine that with a vital component of a portofolio website, as these platforms come and go. I am considering switching to mux.com

@motionpunk1 So much rage with the UI on every update. It blows my mind that you have to watch a 5min tutorial to find that button/option you've been using for a decade. I will be out as soon as I find time to relocate my videos.

VIMEO decided without any notice to ban paid users in EU and UK from accessing anything. On top of that they increased their plans pricing with unreasonable %. End of an era for a platform that used to be there for creatives. It has been awful last few years, with bad ui, difficult to navigate or understand what the changes are every time. I think it might even die abruptly before the end of next year, so if you have many videos up there, make sure to back them up and move on to other places. Such a shame and such a disgrace to not notify us in prompt timing, changing things under the hood that affect our online and social presence. @memotv @JoanieLemercier I also want to leave vimeo after +15y on plus. Not as good service and experience as it used to be. A friend has been happy with mux.com, which seems to give a lot more freedom with their API and they charge per stream and storage.

@JoanieLemercier do you have any ideas on who to go with? I'm on Plus, which is going from $60 to $90/yr, and tbh isn't bad IMHO. Service is still good and does everything I need. Do you need Pro?

Made a mistake and tried to be informative in an “AI power consumption” debate. Learned that some online ppl: • Dogmatically think we need to consume less power (less than?) • Have a religious hatred of AI (not just txt2img) • Will die on a hill of being bad at math sigh.
