@chachatotheleft While we do all possible to assist, standby can only be done in the cabin originally booked. Unfortunately, you would not have been placed in First Class. Prior weather delays have impacted your flight's departure. We're indeed looking at an estimated 10:30p departure time.
Delay #7! Or is it #8? Thanks @AmericanAir at this point I'll be half asleep at the funeral I will (hopefully - it's still not for sure) be attending tomorrow. No compensation for waiting in the airport since 4 PM today.
Finally made it to the plane only 3 hours late. The flight that I could have flown standby already landed. @AmericanAir gave lip service when I told them my husband with cancer would have to get me after a day of chemo if I didn't get on my brother's flight. They prioritized $$!
@AmericanAir It's actually 10:30 now but thanks. Since I'm a lowly peon I'll be waiting at the terminal tweeting about your terrible customer service @AmericanAir until I'm walking onto a plane.
@chachatotheleft We feel so sat about the delays and hope to have you on your way, by the new estimated departure time (10:00p). On the note of compensation, as it stands, since the delay is caused by prior weather related delays, sadly compensation isn't a possibility this time.
Delay #8 or 9. I should have been at my final destination about 30 minutes, instead this has been the delay that never ends, it goes on and on my friends, at @AmericanAir
@AmericanAir I don't care. You've been incredibly unhelpful today. There were 5 first class seat upgrades available on the flight I was on standby on. You could have put me on there if you wanted @AmericanAir and I would have been a happy camper.
Thank god the flight attendants for my 6:59 PM @AmericanAir flight finally arrived at 9 PM. Efficient AF! NOT AT ALL AN INCONVENIENCE. CEOs how do you live with yourselves? Can't take that money to hell with you.
I'm not sure why @AmericanAir thinks that we aren't all noticing their absolute trash customer service and horrible communication. I'm doing these over and over until I board a plane.
Never thought I would see the day that @FlyFrontier would have better customer service than @AmericanAir but here we are chilling at the terminal with delay #5. At least Frontier gives you a voucher after they screw you over.
@AmericanAir officially lost me as a customer today. Poured my heart out in a DM today about how badly I needed to get home tonight, you didn't care. I hope your stocks plummet into hell.

@chachatotheleft@AmericanAir Just do you know @AmericanAir will never get back to you. My flight was delayed twice then canceled. And I had to buy a ticket from another airline to get home for my job on Monday. I’ve sent several emails and posted on social and have yet to hear back on a resolution.
The first flight in my chain of flights for @AmericanAir is already 4.5 hours delayed. I may not make it home tonight. After waiting 7+ hours in the airport on Sunday for delays, I am ready to end my consumer relationship with AA and open to ideas for how they can make it right.
@AmericanAir How would we go about changing my flight to the one that my brother is on tomorrow night so that my husband that gets chemo every Tuesday doesn't have to drive to pick me up? If you are up for helping. 🤗
