Just set the record for Raw Pikachu 276 sold for $2k last night. Listed the item on eBay and sold in 15 minutes. It was possible mint 10 and I had just completed my master set of ascended but I can’t refuse $2k to one card when the whole set is worth 8k. Im a little sad but happy

@ImliterallyETH Put Treekachu on eBay Saturday. First offer in 30 seconds. At 90 sec, I had a dm asking what it would take to beat the offer. At 2:30 I had 3 offers and the dm guy. At 3:00 a 4th offer and that guy asking if I would accept his at $100 off. 5:00 I got full price $2k. WILD DAY.

I’ve known @RobbieHummel for nearly 20 years, since he was a kid playing AAU ball.
I covered him throughout his 7-plus year Purdue career, and was there in West Lafayette when he came back after a pair of torn ACLs.
I joke with him all the time about his 19-inch vertical and how unathletic he is/was, but Hummel was one of the best college players I’ve seen, and it’s a shame that he suffered the knee injuries because Purdue could have won a national title with him healthy.
I’ll say it to anyone that he’s one of my favorite guys I’ve ever covered doing this job, and it’s really cool that we’ve done a podcast on the network together for the last few years. I also love the fact that I’ve rubbed off on him a little bit, and now I have people feeling sorry for me for the mean-spirited shots he takes at me from time to time.
Hummel’s rise in the industry is no surprise to me (I actually recommended him to ESPN’s Mark Gross back when Hummel was playing overseas). He works his ass off, is brutally honest without being offensive and has really given the Field of 68 (and other networks) credibility. But honestly, for me it’s just a blast to do the pod with him and also watch his rapid ascent in this profession because you won’t find a better guy.

Sometimes through the grind of the season, I forget how fortunate I am to do what I do. I’ve worked at some great spots with some terrific people, but have never, ever had more fun than building @TheFieldof68 with @robdauster. It’s funny because when we started it, it was to save Dauster’s career in the industry after he was just laid off. But Rob has wound up saving mine as well. I give him a ton of shit, and much of it is well-deserved, but his work ethic is insane, he’s exactly what you want in a business partner, and he’s incredibly versatile with his talents (other than being such a crappy navigator). It’s been a blast to create something with him from scratch, something where we have complete creative autonomy, something where we can take chances, where we can give talented people a platform, give young people opportunities, providing a blend of insight and information in an entertaining manner to the diehard college hoops fans. This is the fourth season of the network - and we’ve had some incredible people help us get to this point. None have been more impactful than our lead producer Dagen Hughes (@dagen_hughes) - who is an absolute star. We brought him on as an intern in the first year, and now he’s our senior producer and literally can problem-solve anything. He’s the guy who has made After Dark what it is, he’s the one who makes sure Rob and I don’t screw everything up. He’s the guy that other media companies should throw big bucks at, because he’s that good. We brought on Trevor Vallese (@TVallese) two years ago as a producer, and he’s another star, an absolute workhorse and a creative genius. Love how well Dagen and Trevor work together, and that’s one of the best parts of doing this. The relationships, and the synergy among a group that shares a passion for college basketball.

Was looking back through my photos from that day and found this. Electronic tickets are convenient and all but we need to bring these back for the big events, even if they’re not used for official admission.
Set up an automated kiosk inside the arena where I can bring my electronic ticket to have one of these printed on site to match my seat, that way it’s unique to me, it’s official, it doesn’t hold up entrance lines, and you don’t have to worry about counterfeits on the street. And you can even charge me $10 for it since all @NCAA cares about is money. Let the people have their keepsakes.
