"They found the coats on Thursday morning. Fifteen winter coats. Good ones, not garbage. Hanging on the chain-link fence outside Lincoln Elementary. No note. No explanation. Just coats, zipped up like ghosts waiting for bodies. Principal Morris freaked out. Called the police. "Could be stolen," she said. "Could be some kind of prank." But then Kayla Martinez, eight years old, said her mom worked nights cleaning offices and couldn't afford a winter coat this year. She'd been wearing three hoodies layered up. She touched a purple one on the fence, the right size, and whispered, "Can I?" Mrs. Alvarez, the PE teacher, said yes before anyone could stop her. By lunch, all fifteen coats were gone. Fifteen kids who'd been shivering through recess were warm. The next Thursday? Twenty coats. Different fence, same neighborhood, outside the community center. Then thirty coats appeared at the downtown shelter. Then blankets. Then winter boots. No cameras ever caught who did it. No social media claims. Just... coats. Every Thursday. All winter long. The news picked it up. Called them "The Fence Angel." Interviewed grateful families. But nobody knew. Until March. Old man died, Earl Hutchins, seventy-one, lived alone in a basement apartment on Fourth Street. When they cleaned out his place, they found receipts. Thrift store receipts. Hundreds of them. He'd been buying every decent winter coat he could find, spending his entire disability check, and hanging them up at night. His nephew found a journal entry, "Lost my son to exposure in 2004. He was homeless, prideful, wouldn't take handouts. Froze to death behind a dumpster wearing a T-shirt. If I put coats on a fence, nobody has to ask. Nobody has to admit they need help. They just take it. Dignity intact." I'm Kayla Martinez. I'm sixteen now. That purple coat got me through fourth grade. I never knew Earl. Never got to say thank you. But last November, I took my babysitting money to Goodwill. Bought six coats. Hung them on that same fence. My friends saw. They bought coats. Then their parents did. Then the high school started a coat drive, not for a bin, for the fence. Last Thursday, there were 200 coats. Scarves too. Gloves. We call it "Earl's Fence" now. There's one in Detroit. One in Manchester. One in Vancouver. I never met the man who saved me from freezing. But I'm becoming him, one coat at a time. Because the best kind of help doesn't ask for credit. It just hangs there, quiet, waiting for cold hands to find warmth." . Let this story reach more hearts.... . Ai image is for demonstration purpose only. . By Mary Nelson

LONG POST ON DHURANDHAR (2025): The way Dhurandhar is being culturally metabolised on both sides of the border is a testament to what good storytelling and filmmaking can do. For most of the film, you forget that Rehman hates India, and are lost in his world, mostly rooting for him. Expect his dance to be very popular in Indian weddings this season. If 5 years back someone had told you that Indians would be dancing to a Pakistani gangster's steps who hated India, you'd have laughed. Weirdly, the film has brought Indians closer to the real idea of what Pakistani society is, not its India hate - that everyone already knew - but the fact that it is not that different from India itself. Dhar has infused the vilest Pakistani characters with pathos and moments of tenderness that you actively suspend your knowledge that all those characters hate India with a vengeance. Your mind is holding two contradictory ideas at once as you watch the film - it is a wet dream for a storyteller. In Pakistan, I am ready to wager that most people are going to be thrilled with the film. It is perhaps the first time that an Indian film has depicted Pakistan's society without resorting to janab-infused caricaturization. Dhar has taken painstaking efforts to recreate the Physical and the Cultural of Lyari with utmost care (Pakistanis agree with this too). In a sense, Dhar has shown more care towards Pakistan's society than any other Indian filmmaker before. The extreme Left in India who think that the film is smart propaganda, and the extreme Right who think that it is a muh-tod jawab to Pakistan, while polar opposites, actually agree with each other on one important thing - that the filmmaker was guided by his political agenda alone. If that were true, the film just would not have worked the way it has. Just look at Vivek Agnihotri's puerile films. Of course, no film can exist in a vacuum. The political inclination of the filmmaker is clear in the film - you can disagree with that - but he hasn't let that political agenda be the main course, and that's WHY the film works. If you haven't yet watched the film, and if you do not see the whole world with ideology-tinted glasses, I highly recommend you watch it. It is a well-made film.

Loved #dhurandhar! 🔥

🎬 #Dhurandhar – Unapologetic AF Dhurandhar is a bruising, unvarnished espionage thriller that pulls you into a world where spying isn’t glamorous - it’s a slow, suffocating, methodical decay. This isn’t the polished, gadget‑fed spy fantasy an entire generation grew up with, but a landscape built on paranoia: waiting, watching, and bleeding in the shadows. Aditya Dhar constructs this universe with documentary‑style precision, drawing from the very events that fractured our nation and weaving them into a screenplay with a touch of genius that feels gut-wrenching. The Karachi’s maze‑like alleys, Lyari’s violence‑soaked pulse, and the volatile, murky political fault lines between India, Pakistan, and Balochistan aren’t just narrative settings - they’re active forces squeezing every character. The texture of the film is grim not as an aesthetic choice, but as a fundamental truth of the world it occupies. The pacing is deliberate, driven by procedural detail and atmosphere rather than flashy thrills, allowing dread to build even if the stretch is occasionally felt. The casting is exceptional, with each character bringing layered nuance to the unjust world they inhabit. The music and screenplay work in seamless harmony, grounding the savagery in a believable, morally decaying ecosystem. The film’s ambition is unmistakable. Dhurandhar is unapologetic in its stance, aiming to reshape how Indian cinema portrays cross‑border terror and openly embracing cinema as soft power - presenting India’s perspective on terrorism, Pakistan’s socio‑political nexus, and the underworld that ties it all together. Whether you see that as conviction or not will depend entirely on your worldview, but cinematically, Dhar commits to his stance without flinching.

This may sound exaggerated, but Rakshit Shetty in Avane Srimannarayana was so brilliant that I genuinely feel no other Indian actor could have played that role with such effortless perfection. From the smallest mannerisms to the dialogue delivery, he was at his absolute peak. And also, the storytelling in this film was insanely mesmerizing. This film deserved more.

Funny to see sudden box office experts doubting #KantaraChapter1 bookings and collections. When a rooted film wins big, some can’t digest it. If success feels unbelievable, maybe the issue isn’t with the film but with the mirror you look into. Jealousy won’t change the fact that #KantaraChapter1 has already stamped its success at the ticket windows. The roar is louder than your whispers.
