@Helis40k @averagejoeslop @Daamianski HH marines were using the Iron and Crusade armours both are heavier than the more modern variants hence the struggle with standard bolters, even so it's not like Banestrike is a new calibre it's just the black tip version of a bolt.

@averagejoeslop @Daamianski It's pretty well laid out that at the start of the HH and during it that bolters were surprisingly ineffective against Astartes. So much so that specialized munitions (Banestrike) had to be made.

@DocStrangelove2 AT-4 hits a space marine, bro's gonna giggle before turning the gunner into a smear. Conventional explosives don't break ceramite. Canonically even Bolters have a hard time breaking it. You'd need something like a 120mm HEAP round is my guess.
