Teachers in Zimbabwe will receive a monthly salary ranging from $479 to $485 plus an $80 teaching allowance, deputy heads from $503 to $510 plus $80, and heads from $724 to $734 plus $80, with $320 paid in US dollars and the remainder converted at the official interbank rate of the day currently approximately 25.6 ZiG per US dollar, meaning a teacher takes home US$320 plus between 6,118 and 6,272 ZiG, a deputy head US$320 plus between 6,733 and 6,912 ZiG, and a head US$320 plus between 12,390 and 12,646 ZiG, under the new National Joint Negotiating Council (NJNC) salary agreement.
