The bruised heel now crushes. We no longer walk in fear of the serpent. Now we walk in victory. Jesus changed the story. Amen? Repost if you agree.

There isn’t a 5-year-old in the world who is explicitly gay, lesbian, transgender, or heterosexual. Small children do not think about sex or sexuality unless an adult has groomed them to. These are the facts. Candace Owens 🫶🏻💕

Zimbabwe 🇿🇼 will never cease to amaze me, you pay civil servants with degrees less than US$300 & properties are worth hundreds of thousands of US$ dollars to buy , schools fees are hundreds of dollars 💵, rentals are expensive, food prices are high etc , how do you expect people to survive? #EnoughIsEnough !

In my Zimbabwe, we disrespect teachers, allow a university to go for months without lecturers yet we celebrate Zvigananda. We donate cars not to institutions of learning but to social media trolls @Univenofficial CV says change your world view x.com/HStvNews/statu…

Melody Chikati, a Bondolfi lecturer is in danger of developing terminal cancer after getting a bony growth in the arch of her right foot. She is finding it difficult to walk and doctors have advised her to urgently undergo surgery before the problem gets out of hand. US$16 700 is required for the surgery to be carried out at Fortis Hospital, India and although she has raised $9 000, the remainder has proved to be insurmountable considering the time she has been given by doctors and the small income that she and her husband Glorious Chikati get as teachers. The couple has four children and the health obligation is draining all resources to the detriment of the welfare of the kids. Chikati is grateful to staff and pupils at Bondolfi Mission for raising US$3 700 in a fundraising campaign that has taken more than a year. Chikati is appealing for assistance and well-wishers can contact her on 0773549125, Ecocash account 0773549125 or Cabs Nostro account 1127882716. Well-wishers can also contact Masvingo Mirror Helpline on 0775036812. The Administration's Desperate Attempt to Intimidate The news that our 4 AUTUZ executives have received a dismissal punishment is a clear indication of the administration's desperation to intimidate and suppress our movement. But we will not be intimidated, we will not be silenced, and we will not be defeated. This decision is a blatant violation of our rights, a clear abuse of power, and a desperate attempt to break our spirits. But we will not be broken, we will not be deterred, and we will not be defeated. We know that this decision is not about justice, it's not about fairness, and it's not about the welfare of our students. It's about the administration's attempt to maintain their grip on power, to suppress our movement, and to undermine our demands for academic excellence, fairness, and justice. But we will not be fooled, we will not be deceived, and we will not be deterred. We will continue to stand strong, we will continue to stand together, and we will continue to fight for our rights. We will appeal this decision, we will challenge this injustice, and we will emerge victorious. We will not let the administration's desperate attempts to intimidate us silence our voices, suppress our movement, or undermine our demands. So let us rise up, let us stand strong, and let us continue to fight for our rights. Let us show the administration that we will not be intimidated, we will not be silenced, and we will not be defeated. We will emerge victorious, and we will achieve our goals. Let's come out in our numbers on Monday for the picketing, and let's show the administration that we will not be deterred. We will stand strong, we will stand together, and we will emerge victorious. #AUTUZisonStrike @zimlive @ZimEye @thestandardzim @ARTUZ_teachers @mhtestd @Mavhure @gift_mugano @advocatemahere @MakomboreroH @Hon_Kasukuwere @NewZimbabweCom @ProfJNMoyo @LynneStactia @LanceGuma @LarryMadowo @BitiTendai @MutasaPeter @ibbosnr @bbmhlanga @TrevorNcube @edmnangagwa @ali_naka @BBCAfrica @peterndoro @paulmuchemwa2 @crimewatchzw @WeArePindula @adv_fulcrum @MmusiMaimane @hwendec @AdvDali_Mpofu @Julius_S_Malema @Pachisolife @UKinZimbabwe @USEmbZim @NehandaRadio @eNCA @CNNAfrica

It is a Silence Monday. Teachers in Zimbabwe are protesting against the ongoing State sponsored persecution aimed at silencing them. They have taken the silence to the classroom. Government is being urged to listen to the voices of teachers who are demanding a fair wage, state funded education for learners, recruitment of more teachers, right to collective bargaining and restoration of vacation leave. Respect our freedom of expression! Allow us to protest without fear of persecution! @eduint @NEHAWU @ilo @SadtuNational @SnatSwaziland @NewsHawksLive @zimlive @Afriteaching @FrontLineHRD @MoPSEZim @psczimbabwe @PoliceZimbabwe @taundoro @nickmangwana

Our Salary Demands: A Call for Restoration We categorically reject all insulting salary percentages based on $230. Our demand is clear: we seek the restoration of our pre-2018 salary scale, where junior lecturers earned $2,250. We are not fools; we deserve fair compensation that reflects our contributions and the cost of living. It is imperative that the administration acknowledges our demands and acts accordingly. #AUTUZisonStrike #FairCompensation #AUTSolidarity #RestorationNow @NehandaRadio @zimlive @crimewatchzw @mhtestd @Zinasuzim @paulmuchemwa2 @Yvonne_Maphosa @ProfJNMoyo @amutambara @gift_mugano @ThuliMadonsela3 @zimlive @BBCBreaking @daddyhope @LynneStactia @KarenyiKore @KarenyiKore @LarryMadowo @MakomboreroH @BitiTendai @advocatemahere @ZANUPF_Official @nickmangwana @UKinZimbabwe @USEmbZim @SADC_News @ali_naka @Newzroom405 @CNNAfrica

Strike Continues: Our Demands Remain Unmet As we persist in our collective action, it is crucial to reiterate that our demands have yet to be met. The issues at hand are not merely grievances; they are essential for the integrity of our academic environment and the well-being of our community. We stand firm in our resolve, knowing that the continuation of our strike is a necessary step toward achieving fair compensation and restoring the standards of education we hold dear. Our commitment to this cause remains unwavering. Let it be known: until our demands are addressed, our strike continues unabated. #AUTUZisonStrike #Solidarity #AcademicIntegrity #FairCompensation @NewsDayZimbabwe @SABCNews @SADC_News @zimlive @ZimEye @eNCA @crimewatchzw @WeArePindula @mhtestd @Zinasuzim @ZINASU_UZ @ZimStudentUnion @advocatemahere @LynneStactia @MakomboreroH @daddyhope @ibbosnr @MutasaPeter @gift_mugano @ProfJNMoyo @jahman_adamski

🔸A University of Zimbabwe lecturer earns US$229. Two pints of blood cost US$1000. So God forbid that a @UniversityOfZim lecturer should have a health emergency that requires two points of blood. A professor at the country’s oldest university would have to work for 5 months without eating or paying rent in order to buy 2 pints of blood. This is what we mean when we say that @ZANUPF_Official has destroyed lives and livelihoods. It’s a mess. We need new leaders.🇿🇼

A Call for Accountability: The Silence Amidst Crisis at UZ 📅 Over 55 days have passed, with over 700 lecturers striking at the University of Zimbabwe, yet the silence from the government and its ministers is deafening. Minister Fredrick Shava, alongside his permanent secretary, remains ensconced in complacency, offering only empty rhetoric. Where is Parliament in this crisis? Where is the Cabinet? Where is the Executive, as the foundations of our academic institution crumble? This profound neglect begs the question: what is the value of leadership if it turns a blind eye to the very essence of education? The future we’ve built stands on the precipice of ruin. It is time for accountability and action. #AUTUZisonStrike #RestoreEducation #AcademicIntegrity @agencygumbo @JoanaMamombe @adv_fulcrum @nickmangwana @nigelchanakira @edmnangagwa @DrObertMpofu @hwendec @MmusiMaimane @CliffordHlatyw1 @BBCAfrica @eNCA @ZimEye @Zinasuzim @ZINASU_UZ @Sophie_Mokoena @JobSikhala1 @waltermzembi @Hon_Kasukuwere @LynneStactia @freemanchari @EFFSouthAfrica @MbalulaFikile @eNCA @ProfJNMoyo @ibbosnr @mawarirej @ProfPMavima @MthuliNcube @TrevorNcube @BitiTendai @TamukaKagoro77 @obeyshava1 @OppaMuchinguri @cmatewu @cnnbrk @SkyNews @MorningLiveSABC @MakomboreroH @harumutasa @nelsonchamisa @daddyhope @NgarivhumeJacob @ZANUPF_Official @10DowningStreet @cozwva @crimewatchzw

No to Insulting Salary Increments! No to Insulting Salary Increments! We reject percentage increases based on a meagre $230USD. We demand a return to our pre-2018 salaries, where junior lecturers earned a decent $2250USD. New COVID-19 variant NB.1.8.1 sparks global concern, but South Africa remains watchful A new COVID-19 variant, NB.1.8.1, has taken centre stage globally, dominating cases in China and spreading to 22 other countries, including the U.S., Australia, and parts of Asia and Europe. With its rapid transmissibility, the World Health Organization (WHO) and global health experts have issued fresh warnings, but should South Africans be concerned? NB.1.8.1, an Omicron subvariant, is more transmissible than its predecessors, potentially evading some immunity from prior infections or vaccines. Early data shows a 1.5-fold reduction in antibody response compared to the globally dominant LP.8.1 strain. However, there’s no evidence it causes more severe illness, with symptoms mirroring familiar ones: sore throat, fever, and fatigue. As of now, no cases have been reported in South Africa, according to the National Institute for Communicable Diseases (NICD). Public health experts urge calm but vigilance. “South Africa has faced variants before and has the tools to respond,” says Dr Sipho Dlamini, an infectious disease specialist. “Vaccination and surveillance are key.” Meanwhile, global reports of vaccine-related complications, like myocarditis, have sparked local calls for transparency in health communication to maintain trust. For now, South Africans are encouraged to monitor NICD updates and prioritize vaccination. As NB.1.8.1 spreads globally, preparedness not panic is the watchword.
