Today we remember Brigadier Benjamin Adekunle, the Black Scorpion, a Yoruba son who liberated the entire South from Biafran control. He died in Lagos in 2014. Nigeria never fully honoured him.

Facts from fiction Before Amalgamation the South East was desolate still living in a primitive society. No history of empires When the North,South West Yoruba land were building civilization states, Conquering cities expanding kingdoms, trading as far as modern day Turkey ,in fact the Hausa land was one of the richest historically with their animal leathers reputed as one of the best in sub Sahara Africa. In fact the truth is that was the creation of Nigeria that evolved the South East. Now there is a clarity the Ijaw ,Nembe people were the people with access to Sea,hence a far more organised and structured people The South East has no access to the Sea ,No history of warfare ,no great civilization or empire . They should be thankful to Nigeria With the smallest land mass ,coupled with erosion and infertility Their existence and survival was built on Nigeria
Mick Milee@MickMilee

Unpopular opinion: If Nigeria wasn't amalgamated, The Southeast would be Singapore. The Southwest would be Ghana. The North would be… still figuring it out. The real question isn't whether Nigeria should have been amalgamated. It's why 60+ years after independence, we're still blaming 1914 for 2024 problems. Who's responsible now?

Prior to the 1967 Biafra War, the then Head of State, General Yakubu Gowon, sent Chief Obafemi Awolowo, Professor Aluko, and other members of the NOC Committee to Enugu to plead with Ojukwu to embrace peace and avoid war. However, Ojukwu boasted that he had the largest Black army in the world and was prepared for war. When the war eventually began, millions of Ibos suffered greatly, while Ojukwu later fled to Ivory Coast. After the war, Gowon pursued a policy of “No Victor, No Vanquished” and reintegrated the Ibos back into Nigeria. Awolowo, who served as Minister of Finance, also introduced the 20-pound compensation policy for many Ibo account holders who lost access to their bank savings during the war. Ironically, ibo people still regard Ojukwu who ran away to ivory coast as hero, while those who advocated for peace and post-war reconciliation are viewed negatively.

"An Igbo Man Doesn't Bow to Anyone Except His Chi" – Yet Viral Video Shows Igbos Bowing to Yoruba King The Igbo say an Igbo man does not bow to anyone except his Chi. But a viral video now shows Igbos bowing deeply to a Yoruba king. Yoruba land has accommodated Igbos for generations, largely because their own lands have become uninhabitable due to neglect, erosion, and collapsed infrastructure. When locals allow you to thrive without disturbance, you should not take their kindness for granted. The contradiction is clear. The same people who speak of pride and independence are now seen prostrating before a Yoruba ruler. The video does not lie. The knees bent. The king was Yoruba.

@femiogunleye9 Can you point out one thing that makes you better than igboman and his region. Igbos are 20 years ahead of yorubas. Stop looking at lagos as the strength or creation of yorubas because igbos own 60% of wealth of lagos. Think about other yoruba states see you level of progress

The sad story of an ethnic group that lost everything because of greed, yet blames everyone else for its woes instead of engaging in self-reflection. They had everything at their disposal in the old Eastern Region, access to the sea, vast land, and control of the eastern border that connects to other African countries. They lost it all due to greed and a lack of foresight from their leaders. In an attempt to dominate Nigeria, they supported the destruction of a system of government that had originally placed them ahead, but it eventually backfired. Today, they find themselves confined to a much smaller region, almost the size of Oyo State. That same greed also caused them to lose many of the opportunities they once had in Lagos. Who will help them? Is this how they will continue on this part of self destruction?

@im_Kolins The Igbos should learn to accept responsibility for their actions. They cannot continue denying what they did to the political leaders of the North and Sir Akintola and others. The Igbos wanted to take over Nigeria by force, they underestimated the determination of the North.

As Wole Soyinka was fighting for Biafra freedom that led to his arrest. Achebe was chilling in the USA. After the war ended, Achebe wrote a Book called. THERE WAS A COUNTRY. He blamed Soyinka & Awolowo but not his brother OJUKWU who started fight because of his greediness for POWER. & Azikiwe who turned his back against Biafra freedom.

Reasons why Ibos can never rule Nigeria👇 1. Their tribalism and bigotry. 2. They are not born to rule, they are born to be lead. 3. They are not loyal to Nigeria, they are saboteurs. 4. They will Pai both their supporters and non supporters e.g Victor banjo & Tafawa Balewa.
