@ElenaRunsNYC Nearly all the runners ran a pb in that race. According to GG's mgr, the track is new and "bouncy". Hence the times.

@darren_levin South Melbourne just scrapes into the top 3 in Victoria
English

Look, I love South Melbourne Market as much as the next person but Adelaide Central Market might be the best in Australia #gatherround
English

@princerubiton Also had Tim Ryan saying GG in the last was 2.25 in those last 3min, yet it never changed from 2.10 on my laptop. Amateurs.
English

@princerubiton Not sure if it's the website or not but anomalies all day with me. Tried betting SoulofSpain at 8.50 but telling me price came in to $8, but it actually went out to $9 while I'm trying to bet 🤷🏻♂️
English

Example just playing around picking random horses. Monte Supreme try to put 20 on at 34. Shortens to 26 in the slip. Cancel the bet and the odds winds back out to 34 #gamesgorn

TAB’s algo makes it hard to take them seriously. Odds firm in your bet slip, as you go to place a bet, and suddenly the price is gone. Then it drifts again when you remove from your betslip. Rinse and repeat across multiple races.

@puntingbattler @J_Walter23 Same as society in general. Middle class getting skinned alive.
English

@J_Walter23 It’s definitely become even more the “sport of kings”. Rich people are getting richer an th battlers are being left behind.

Strange time in racing.
The industry feels like it’s at war with itself.
Rising costs. Heavier wagering taxes. Participants stretched.
Challenges everywhere … but very little clarity on the bigger picture.
Hard not to wonder… where is this all actually heading?

@J_Walter23 The best going around, despite what Moody says about you.

@justhorseracing Brain-dead ride. His homework/advisors told him to be on My Gladiolas bum, when the right horse to follow was War Machine. By not riding him like the best horse, he was dictated to.

@BoomPunting @Racing_Previews Goldolphin to Maher: Hey Ciaron, you want to keep training our horses? Nominate Jimmy."
English

Hahahaha, gold.
Jimmysstar will nominate for the Newmarket. Means Tentyris won’t be topweight when noms are released, and you’d think he WILL be running.
Trent Masenhelder@tmase04
News: Ozzie Kheir likely to have three runners in The All-Star Mile - Leica Lucy, Buckaroo and Light Infantry Man. Jimmysstar has been nominated for the Newmarket, but unlikely to start (first-up in the William Reid).

@AvidCommentator Judging by the people I personally know who have an offset and are borrowing against equity, very inflationary!
English

@ThinkerThe1 @PeteWargent Employment is still good and I'd say many are borrowing against equity in their houses. I'm also seeing everywhere packed out and people spending like it's going out of fashion.
English

@PeteWargent Shopping centres full of folks buying stuff. Where are they getting the money from.....
English

@MickamiousG Maybe because they have the worst drinking water in the world.
English

@princerubiton Needed to be brave and kick up and get Via's back out of the gates and she shits in.
English

Bowman on Aeliana today was a horror watch for her backers 🫣
princerubiton@princerubiton
Bowman returns, and he’s an alpha who changes race shapes. Can go warp speed and torch a speed map. Four rides, and only Aeliana in the market. FIFO stats in Aus past year: 11 starts, 0-0-0.

@Moorie62527 @NCW717 @BOM_au Thanks. The only thing I can't get on this reg address is the old 3 hourly forecasts.
English

I would like to congratulate @BOM_au on the new website, impossible to use so now less people will see how poor they are at predicting weather. Fortunately there is many other more accurate and user friendly alternatives. #ourtaxesatwork

@J_Walter23 Similar to when a horse weighs in light. The punter was NEVER collecting, but receives no refund.
English

Futures punters are always crying over missed results and horses not reaching or shifting their grand finals. But the Sir Delius case is genuinely different.
Sir Delius wasn't injured. He was BANNED after mandatory CT scans showed "heightened risk of injury" - not an actual injury, but potential risk. These scans are compulsory for ALL Melbourne Cup runners.
Punters backed him into near-favouritism for weeks. But he was never getting past those mandatory scans showing that risk profile. This screening was always going to happen, it's part of the race conditions.
We accept horses might break down or fail race-day vets with actual injuries. That's futures betting. But when mandatory screening eliminates a SOUND horse due to injury risk protocols, that's different.
LADBROKES has offered refunds on all Singles & Live Multi Bets. Should the others be forced to follow?
Either way we need reform for future cases such as this. Automatic voids when horses are eliminated by MANDATORY pre-race risk assessments. Not actual injuries. Not bad luck. A sound horse ruled out by regulatory requirements that were always going to be enforced.
If a horse was never getting past mandatory screening despite being sound, were punters ever actually live? The rules need to catch up to the protocols
