@ElenaRunsNYC Nearly all the runners ran a pb in that race. According to GG's mgr, the track is new and "bouncy". Hence the times.

The Gout Gout outrage is a bit ridiculous. The time is real, the track is the right length so the only thing that is possible to question is the wind.

Look, I love South Melbourne Market as much as the next person but Adelaide Central Market might be the best in Australia #gatherround

@princerubiton Not sure if it's the website or not but anomalies all day with me. Tried betting SoulofSpain at 8.50 but telling me price came in to $8, but it actually went out to $9 while I'm trying to bet 🤷🏻‍♂️

@J_Walter23 It’s definitely become even more the “sport of kings”. Rich people are getting richer an th battlers are being left behind.

Strange time in racing. The industry feels like it’s at war with itself. Rising costs. Heavier wagering taxes. Participants stretched. Challenges everywhere … but very little clarity on the bigger picture. Hard not to wonder… where is this all actually heading? #TheGreatGame

@justhorseracing Brain-dead ride. His homework/advisors told him to be on My Gladiolas bum, when the right horse to follow was War Machine. By not riding him like the best horse, he was dictated to.

@AvidCommentator Judging by the people I personally know who have an offset and are borrowing against equity, very inflationary!

Serious question for those who have modelled this or read extensively into those who have: To what degree is the housing credit impulse driving Australian inflationary pressures, versus the impact from wages growth where it currently stands?

@ThinkerThe1 @PeteWargent Employment is still good and I'd say many are borrowing against equity in their houses. I'm also seeing everywhere packed out and people spending like it's going out of fashion.

I would like to congratulate @BOM_au on the new website, impossible to use so now less people will see how poor they are at predicting weather. Fortunately there is many other more accurate and user friendly alternatives. #ourtaxesatwork

@J_Walter23 Similar to when a horse weighs in light. The punter was NEVER collecting, but receives no refund.

Futures punters are always crying over missed results and horses not reaching or shifting their grand finals. But the Sir Delius case is genuinely different. Sir Delius wasn't injured. He was BANNED after mandatory CT scans showed "heightened risk of injury" - not an actual injury, but potential risk. These scans are compulsory for ALL Melbourne Cup runners. Punters backed him into near-favouritism for weeks. But he was never getting past those mandatory scans showing that risk profile. This screening was always going to happen, it's part of the race conditions. We accept horses might break down or fail race-day vets with actual injuries. That's futures betting. But when mandatory screening eliminates a SOUND horse due to injury risk protocols, that's different. LADBROKES has offered refunds on all Singles & Live Multi Bets. Should the others be forced to follow? Either way we need reform for future cases such as this. Automatic voids when horses are eliminated by MANDATORY pre-race risk assessments. Not actual injuries. Not bad luck. A sound horse ruled out by regulatory requirements that were always going to be enforced. If a horse was never getting past mandatory screening despite being sound, were punters ever actually live? The rules need to catch up to the protocols #TheGreatGame

Looking at the splits from the Everest, a massive tip of the hat must go to Josh Parr and Ethan Brown. They smashed it. Where you were positioned relative to that pair was the key. Naturally Zac was right in between...
