@wroteandrot 😭😭😭😭😭 on some level I kinda get when the writers say they don’t know how to write after a HEA, it’s hard to balance fan expectations. But tbh I think they should just be bold, especially with he LIs who were underutilised in their seasons (kate & colin)

@wroteandrot in terms of narrative progression that would make sense, but the Bridgerton pattern is hitting a hard reset for a character right before their season which is basically what they’ve done with eloise 💀

@chattyreality right. that's why i think s5 will be fran. they need setup for eloise they haven't done yet.

@wroteandrot yep! the show is allergic to giving the characters depth post marriage. tbh I don’t completely blame them cause the fans would riot if the couples were anything but perfectly happy and content after their season. but it’s not like all conflict has to be between the couples.

@chattyreality but that's my problem with romance series in general. once the couple is happy they're not allowed real problems anymore.

@wroteandrot we should’ve heard about marina dying some time this season and had the season end with eloise writing to philip. with fran I just feel like it’ll be a bit jarring to go from her mourning to falling love two episodes later

@wroteandrot I think that should’ve been her plot in s4. we’d already seen her start to be open to the idea of marriage in s3 (which makes sense since it’s her best friend and brother) but then s4 pretends like that never happened and starts afresh.
