Quick question for my gamer friends from gamer who hasn't really gamed in 15 years. Need a new laptop, thinking about maybe doing some gaming again one day? Lots of research, 2 choices.
Much difference between an:
i5-10, 8gb DDR4, RTX 3060
i5-11, 16bg DDR6, RTX 3050Ti

@TheGamersRest Who says you HAVE to have an attack cantrip? But also, yeah, it's thematic. My wizard uses largely enchantment and illusion stuff soooo.

Question for all #dnd5e Wizards out there when you choose your cantrips how do you decide on your basic attack spell i.e. firebolt, Acid splash, Ray of frost etc ??

@NevernotDM Out of curiosity, what about two weapon fighting don’t you like? I have found it makes a huge difference at low levels especially for a fighter and seems quite effective. What would make it better without overpowering it?

@redwyrmofficial @NevernotDM Dungeon dudes just did a video about modifying two weapon fighting that actually seemed rather effective. One of the main aspects was removing the bonus action requirement. Part of the problem is that it's a spec that doesn't do nearly as much damage as just about anything else

@Dannyhurt11 For me it varies. It all depends on what strikes my muse. A particular world? A person or type of person? A technology or situation? I start with what inspires and then build around that.

@TheGamersRest One of the things I've learned with starting a new campaign, be it old or new players: If they aren't already a pre-established group, pair them together somehow. It gives everyone a little background to work with and nobody is a 'loner'

So let's talk about sessions 0's #dnd what are the must have's at your table and how do they differ if you have new players entering your game?

@TheGamersRest One of my games that lasted the longest, after characters were made, I did individual sessions with 1-2 characters in a sort of mini-story to get them all to where they were, and how they knew some of the others.

@TheGamersRest Some of my games come in phases. Session A (Character creation), Session B (Connecting characters to story and eachother), Session 0 is actually playing but likely no dice/stats involved to get a setting going, then Session 1.

I'm a bit curious about the 'awarded' part. Or the 'become a ____' part. Because those don't necessarily happen.

@GingerOwlGirl @GamerMomLuna I'm curious how you would change that. I do have one game where we roll initiative every round so that combat doesn't become static, but it also adds an extra level of burden
