I’ve been thinking a lot lately about the rise of 'fixer-upper' founders ⚒️ No, not the kind with a side hustle in DIY. I mean the ones pitching slightly faster, slicker versions of existing tech. At @adaventures, we've seen a wave of these over recent years. Startups offering incremental improvements in categories that are already pretty crowded, addressing problems that have largely been solved. And while aiming for ‘better’ is no bad thing, the rise of vibe coding and open source AI means being the 'best version right now' is no longer a defensible long-term strategy. We’ve welcomed amazing new team members, reported on our innovative initiatives like free childcare for founders and launched AdaGPT. This year, we closed our oversubscribed Fund II at £63m, backed by amazing LPs, and deployed £8 million across 13 new investments in groundbreaking companies like Radiant Matter, PHINXT Robotics and @LowCarbonM to name a few 🚀 We’ve also expanded our team and network, welcoming incredible talent including @michaeltefula, @jasmincbd, @dorothychou, @benjmnjn and Shanika Amarasekara MBE who are driving impactful change.
