If there is a God and Jesus was the proof of God, then God is consciousness and he created us and our consciousness, and HE sustains it, and HE already has a plan for how it will continue. And it will not be on the Moon or Mars, it will be here, on a New Earth that HE creates for those that will be living here. He has revealed that to us. Is it possible that one of the things we'll do for eternity is travel through space. Well, we will be immortal so there's time to travel anywhere, but Jesus' immortal body could appear and disappear, so I'm guessing travel will be instantaneous to anywhere. So, what reason would there be to travel to other galaxies though? Since we will be immortal, there will be no more reproduction. Unless us immortals, will somehow we responsible for spreading mortal humanity throughout the cosmos. Literal gods over seeing the spread of love throughout the Universe... That would be speculation. Suffice to say, it is not our responsibility to preserve consciousness, that is under God's control. It's our responsibility to exercise it according to God's guidance. If you want to go flying to the Moon or Mars because it's there, I guess it's not hurting anyone, but saying you're doing it to save consciousness sets up a false hope for how humanity is saved, and THAT IS a problem.
