I want to thank @NetflixSA and @stainedglasstv_ for taking my story from print to film. This is such a surreal moment for me!! #ThePolygamist is my debut novel, the book that got rejected by many publishers. So I took a bet on myself and self published. The bet paid off!!

Yesterday’s derby action in pictures 📸 Despite conceding early in the 8th minute, the boys showed remarkable resilience, producing a second-half masterclass. The comeback began shortly after the break, with Mongameli Tshuma drawing us level in the 49th minute. The momentum swung firmly in our favour in the 68th minute when Isaac Ngoma fired us into the lead, before substitute Prince Ndlovu sealed the victory in the 72nd minute. A dominant display to secure our first three points of the season 🙌

Lenacapavir launch signals new era in Zimbabwe’s HIV battle HARARE – Zimbabwe has launched a high impact new weapon in its fight against HIV, rolling out the long acting injectable lenacapavir in a decisive shift aimed at slowing stubborn infection rates and widening prevention options for those at highest risk. At a national launch in Epworth, one of the country’s HIV hotspots, the Ministry of Health and Child Care began administering the twice yearly pre exposure prophylaxis injection, positioning it as a breakthrough addition to the country’s prevention arsenal. Health Minister Dr Douglas Mombeshora delivered a blunt warning against misinformation as the rollout began. “This is a matter of life and health, so let us be very clear. Do not place your trust in rumors. Do not risk your wellbeing on misinformation,” he said. “Trust trained health professionals. Walk into our clinics. Ask the questions that matter. Your health deserves facts, not fear.” He said the program is the result of deliberate planning and preparation. “This rollout has not happened by chance. It is deliberate and backed by strong policy foundations. We have strengthened guidelines, prepared our health workers, reinforced supply systems, and deepened community engagement. Every innovation must strengthen our health systems and serve the people who need it most.” The introduction follows World Health Organization guidance recommending lenacapavir, the first twice yearly injectable PrEP, as a transformative option for people who struggle with daily pills, stigma, or access to care. The move comes as a global prevention efforts stall, with 1.3 million new infections recorded in 2024. Authorities stressed that the injection will be integrated into existing prevention measures, not replace them. National AIDS Council chief executive Dr Benard Madzima said the country is expanding its options while maintaining proven tools. “This introduction does not mean we abandon the traditional prevention tools that have protected us for years. Condoms, voluntary medical male circumcision and daily oral PrEP remain highly effective,” he said. “What we are doing is adding another powerful tool to the toolbox in the fight against HIV.” On the ground, early uptake reflected growing confidence. Community champion Melody Dengu, a sex worker who received the injection earlier this year, said fear and misinformation initially slowed acceptance. “There was fear among colleagues in my profession, concerns about body deformity and side effects. I chose to lead by example,” she said. “Apart from pain in the first few hours after the injection, nothing has changed. Everything is normal. Because of that, I have managed to convince 12 of my colleagues to come forward today.” She said the twice yearly injection offers critical protection for a mobile and high-risk population. “In our line of work, we move around frequently, and sometimes we forget to take oral PrEP. Carrying tablets has also exposed some of us to gender based violence when clients assume we are taking ARVs. This injection changes that. It is taken twice a year. For many of us, this is protection, dignity, and peace of mind.” The Epworth rollout is targeting key populations first, with authorities signaling wider expansion as capacity grows. With two injections a year providing long term protection and designed to work alongside condoms and other prevention methods, Zimbabwe’s latest intervention marks a strategic escalation aimed at tightening the net around new infections and reshaping the country’s HIV prevention response. A sad day for journalism in Bulawayo. Interviewing a 14-year-old accused person on camera and revealing her identity raises serious ethical concerns. Children must be protected, not exposed for content. We urge the @VoluntaryMedia to take note and engage media houses.

Whatever punishment CAF give Senegal, their short-lived walkout sent a solid message that this continued twisted refereeing needs to be given urgent attention and won't be tolerated!! Bravo to Coach and Captain!! I personally don't disagree with their decisions!! #AFCON25
