James Franklin signed the BEST RECRUITING CLASS EVER in THE HISTORY OF VIRGINIA TECH FOOTBALL in 2026 by AVG Recruit Ranking and he did it in just a few weeks on the job. The 88.37 AVG is 0.96 points higher than the 2025 class and slightly better than the 2024 class. 4 star LB Terry Wiggins is the prized recruit of the class in my opinion, he has the athleticism, size & skill to be one of the best players in #CFB down the road. 4 star RB Messiah Mickens and 4 star TE Pierce Petersohn are also great additions. Franklin was also able to keep 4 star OT Thomas Wilder, 4 star CB Zaevion Cleveland & 4 star WR FatRat Brown home. 3 star DT T-Ron Richardson is an underrated name to remember and 3 star OT Marlen Bright has an impressive skill set. I know the 2026 recruiting class is a great start to what Franklin is building in Blacksburg but he needs to continue bringing in elite talent and most importantly develop them if VT wants to get back being competitive in #CFB.

For any High School players & parents saying freshmen and sophomores shouldn’t play varsity and need to “pay their dues.” Sorry — 1980 is over. If they’re good enough, they’re playing varsity. Period. Guess you’re going to have to adjust.
