My 15 year old niece watches the worst crap on You Tube. Sexist. Misogynist. Vulgar. Hysterical. Racist All just designed to keep them watching. I try to explain to her what's wrong with it. She thinks I am being boring. At the Edinburgh TV Festival last August a network executive suggested that You Tube needed to be regulated by Ofcom and I now I completely agree. These kids are basically being manipulated and groomed online to accept ridiculous nonsense as the norm.
