@Tope_soft Atiku winning the ticket was never in doubt - he’s got more name recognition, allies across every section of the country and a broad network than the duo of Rotimi Amaechi and Hayatu-Deen.

Atiku won the primaries . What is happening is that it’s in the inherent character of an average Nigerian politician not to accept their loss . Also it’s much easier to accept loses when modalities of elections are clear and transparent. The party should have used ballot papers and do proper accreditation. It would have been easier now for instance to do a recount or show who won clearly . Nothwithstanding, Atiku is clearly the preferred nominee of the Party !

You could see the genuine happiness on Peter Obi’s face after Justice Crack was finally released. Beyond the politics, it was a human moment. A man who was detained simply for speaking up about the welfare of soldiers finally regained his freedom, and Peter Obi quietly played a role behind the scenes in making that happen. What touched me even more was how he stayed in contact with Justice’s wife throughout that difficult period, encouraging her and giving her hope when things seemed uncertain and even offered financial support in his own little way. For me, moments like this say a lot about the kind of leadership Nigeria deserves. A country where citizens are not punished for asking questions, criticizing the government, or demanding better living conditions. A country where freedom of speech is respected and the rule of law actually means something. If there’s one thing this moment showed, it’s that Peter Obi believes no Nigerian should be left behind or silenced for using their voice. #NigeriaWillBeOk

@RealQueenBee__ Were you expecting Amaechi to defeat Atiku before? Lol, it’s even insulting to the person of Atiku to contest primaries with Amaechi, but I like the fact he submitted himself to the democratic process.

BREAKING: Deadlock in ADC as the moment between the Leadership and Amaechi. Atiku has been conjured as the winner, they're now trying to persuade Amaechi to accept the sham primary election. But Amaechi is not buying into this because evidence of irregularities are numerous.

@TNnadiekwe @Franeb Obi isn’t a serious politician. He’s still globetrotting when other candidates are busy working hard to build structures and expand their base.

@Franeb How many LGAs were covered in the polling? Plus, anyone who is close to Obi should tell him to fold his sleeves and get to work immediately. Kwankwaso is already energizing his base and it is important for Obi to do same down south. He needs to work with strategists this time.

One thing Atiku has going for him is that he has friends, business partners, allies and strong network in virtually every section of this country. No one can take this away from Waziri.

@dawisu Dawisu, the deceased immediate family has already released a statement to the effect that his son is innocent and also pleaded with the members of the public to allow the security agents to conclude their investigations.

The man was our direct neighbour in Guzape. He was hardly around because he spent most of his time out of the country. In fact, he had just returned from Turkey barely two days before his son killed him. His children lived in the house and lacked nothing. They even had an inverter, and my sister would often joke about their electricity bill because their ACs were almost always on, especially in this Adelabu Band A era. Only for the shocking truth to emerge that his own son killed him. At first, the boy tried to make it look like armed robbers had attacked the house. But thankfully, a neighbour’s CCTV camera was reviewed, and it showed that he was the last person to enter the compound with his girlfriend around 2am. Honestly, this world is becoming frightening. It is heartbreaking that a son could do something like this to his own father! 😪

Billonaire businessman Chief Godwin Chinedu Adimike was reportedly murdered at his Number 3 Hassan Adamu street, Guzape Abuja by his 21 year old son, who is currently a service NYSC member, on Friday May 15 2026. He was stabbed multiple times by his son after a heated argument. His son confronted him of being stingy with money, citing how some of his friends' fathers, who were not as wealthy, buy cars for their children. The deceased on the other day, accused his son of being extravagant and mismanaging funds. Following the argument, his son stabbed him thrice, and he died at the spot. It was reported that on this fate ful day, his son had returned from club with two ladies on. And he killed his father in their presence. He's currently in police custody.

I joined other prospective voters of the African Democratic Congress in our party's presidential primaries in casting my vote at the Ajiya Ward Polling Unit in Jimeta Yola, Adamawa State. This is democracy at work. The election taking place simultaneously in 8,809 Wards in Nigeria is a major step in our quest to recover our beloved country and set it on the path of prosperity. -AA

This Southern Africa trip with Mr. Peter Obi, from Lagos to Johannesburg to Cape Town and back has been, for me, far beyond movement across cities and meetings across borders. It has been an opportunity for deep observation, learning, reflection, and a closer understanding of leadership, nation-building, and the burden of carrying the hopes of people across different spaces and circumstances. Beginning in Cape Town, at the Spier dialogue on Africa’s growth and development, I watched Mr Peter Obi engage leaders from across the continent and beyond with remarkable humility and depth. Mr Peter Obi introduced me to the Mayor of Cape Town, political leaders, diplomats, academics, development experts, and participants who had come from different parts of Africa, Europe, and America. What stood out immediately was not merely recognition, but the genuine warmth, respect, and attentiveness with which people received him. Across ideological and political divides, there was a visible acknowledgment of his consistency, clarity, and moral standing. For me, however, the most profound moments were often not on the podium, but in the quieter spaces, observing how Mr Peter Obi listens, the questions he asks, and the seriousness with which he approaches even the smallest conversations. Whether speaking to former Presidents, current ministers, political leaders, diaspora Nigerians, or ordinary citizens, his first instinct is always to ask questions, How are Nigerians faring? What are the challenges? How are our people treated? What opportunities exist? What lessons can Nigeria learn? What systems are working? What systems are failing? There is something deeply instructive about seeing a leader genuinely curious, genuinely listening, and genuinely concerned. At the dialogue in Cape Town, when Mr Peter Obi delivered his key address on policies for growth in Africa, he spoke with clarity about the tragedy and paradox of a continent so blessed with natural and human resources still struggling under the weight of poor leadership, corruption, weak institutions, and misplaced priorities. But what struck me most was how seamlessly he connected the broader African conversation with the realities at home in Nigeria. Mr Peter Obi spoke about leadership not as an abstract concept, but as a lived responsibility. He explained how the quality of governance within a nation ultimately reflects how its citizens are perceived and treated beyond its borders. That leadership at home shapes dignity abroad. That when governance fails, citizens often carry the burden internationally. Yet even while addressing difficult truths, he consistently defended the integrity, resilience, brilliance, and hard work of Nigerians everywhere. Mr Peter Obi raised hope while still confronting reality. He challenged systems without condemning people. He spoke honestly, but never hopelessly. In Johannesburg and Cape Town, the interactions with Nigerian communities were deeply emotional and revealing. Many shared concerns, fears, frustrations, and experiences about migration, identity, economic hardship, and social tensions. Yet in those interactions, I also saw something else, the trust and emotional connection people have with Mr Peter Obi. Not merely politically, but personally. People spoke to him as someone who understands their pain and still believes in their future. Watching Mr Peter Obi’s engagements with South African ministers and political leaders was equally enlightening. The discussions were thoughtful, respectful, and frank. There was no grandstanding, no unnecessary drama, just serious conversations around governance, migration, law, regional cooperation, and the future of Africa. Even in disagreement, there was mutual respect.

If only wishes were horses…. If only we could sit in our house and write results on excel sheets to win elections. I get the excitement at the thought that I might have lost a primary: In Dave chappelles words, "When a hero stumbles, cowards rejoice. Nothing feels better to a coward than to watch a brave guy fall." BUT Sorry to dissapoint, that wont be today. The people of Lagos know the name of their champion. Since friday the landslide victory was so definite that we had started celebrations. Last night we were officially declared victorious in a landslide victory. We stay winning against any odds they throw our way, much less excel sheets... Glory be to GOD!!! #ourlagos
