Excited to share that our Original article (RCT) from #PGIMER Gastro dept has been published in CGH @AGA_CGH 🙏🏻🔥😍 “Buprenorphine vs diclofenac for pain relief in acute pancreatitis: A double-blinded randomized-controlled trial” Congratulations to the Main PI: Dr Jayanta Samanta @jayanta_sam 🇮🇳 and first author (Dr. Mayank Saini) 😍 A big thank-you and sincere gratitude to all our co-authors @Dr_AntrikshKr @drarupc @lelecapurso @DeMadaria and @AntonioFaccior6 sir (also to others not on twitter)🇮🇹🇪🇸🇮🇳 ✅Double blinded RCT ✅Single center ✅IV buprenorphine (n=24) vs IV diclofenac (n=24) ✅Rescue analgesia: Fentanyl (patient- controlled analgesia pump) ▶️Primary outcome: difference in the dose of rescue fentanyl Overall results (B vs D): ✔️Rescue fentanyl: 130 vs 520 μg ✔️Number of total demands: 8 vs 32 ✔️ Pain free interval: 20 vs 4 hours ✔️Greater reduction in the VAS score at 24, 48, 72 hrs. in buprenorphine group ✴️Findings even confirmed in the subgroup of moderately severe /severe pancreatitis. ❌Adverse events profile was similar in the 2 groups Conclusion 🎯 Buprenorphine can be used as an effective analgesic agent with prolonged pain control in patients with AP, irrespective of disease severity 🔗 link below and enjoy !!!😇🙏🏻🥰 cghjournal.org/article/S1542-…
