2025 is coming. Some advice for young doctors. How to be a successful doctor in 2025 and beyond ? Two broad ways First - good old way 1) Slog it out, get good training and experience 2) Be ethical, communicative and learn to counsel patients in a positive manner 3) keep reading and updating , learn from mistakes and improvise 4) Network with doctors, people. Create good social media profiles. 5) Start your own practice in any form, keep building it up. Understand the market dynamics and learn some entrepreneurial skills. Or you may join a purely academic institution. 6) Think of moving abroad, may get better pay or balance for less slogging. (Also less or no competition from docs practicing second method) 7) Focus on addressing massive failures of patients treated by unproven therapies (like below). May take 20 years for success with this method, but conscience may remain intact. But average earnings and fame can never match doctors using second method. There will be always a risk involved to face litigation, as general narrative will be against you and you will be seeing complicated stuff. Second - New age rage 1) Get core undergraduate doctor degree (sometimes not mandatory too :). Don’t bother to waste another 10-15 years on getting higher degrees. 2) Learn about some fancy niche which most doctors are not doing - eg : iv chelation, iv multivitamin therapies, ozone therapy, uv light therapies, fancy & expensive supplements usage, fancy cosmetic procedures, fancy massages, cupping, prolotherapy, stem cell therapies, unproven alternative therapies etc. Charge a bomb for each such procedure or supplement. 3) Create an influencer like social media profile and hire more influencers. Heavily promote. Target high end customers (yes customer is a better term than patient here). 4) Abuse and bad mouth modern medicine (wrongly named as allopathy) therapies. Try to create fearful environment where you try to show how above therapies are far better for even severe patients and how modern medicine doctors only cause side effects. 5) Try to market your anecdotal successes as proven therapies. No need of research. If some poor, old and non-validated research is available, no worries. Just get the data suiting your therapy and bombard that on social media profiles. Remember fair and Lovely is also a successful brand with their own research claims. You just need proper marketing. 6) Never disclose your failures and complications (they won’t anyways come to you, it’s will headache of doctors using first method :) Second method will make you a favourite among celebrities, you won’t be losing hair and you will be far more successful than first method using docs. Also your AEPP (average earning per patient) will be far higher than first method. Also you will have a far better work, life balance. Also there is hardly any litigation issues (unproven therapies may not cause effect and hence less likely to cause side effect). Feel free to give your comments Thanks
