Academic memes that should die, #1: "It's only X if it comes from the X region of France, otherwise it's just sparkling Y." It was briefly amusing the first time, but please make it end now.

For anyone who leads/facilitates workshops or planning sessions - virtual or face to face. @SessionLab has over 900 methods in its free library of facilitation techniques: sessionlab.com/library?utm_so… I particularly like the section labelled "action" - tools to create better decisions

I’ve been waiting 15 years for the moment I’ll get the literary theoryheads. But, sorry, I don’t think it’s happening. No Foucault or Lacan for me.

How many felt it was too short? 15%. It's easy to get caught up as the "expert". But expertise is a bias and it's something you always need to test. Without the data, we likely would have doubled the length because it felt right to us, the "experts". The data told us otherwise.

Reasons your data-driven decision-making might be falling short: 1⃣ You're collecting the wrong data. 2⃣ You're collecting the right data in the wrong way. 3⃣ You're not digging deep enough into the data to identify the most effective action. Just "having data" isn't enough.
